The Pakistan Navy conducted a “comprehensive exercise” in the north Arabian Sea, successfully firing a surface-to-air missile, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, “Pakistan Navy demonstrated its operational readiness and combat preparedness through a comprehensive exercise in the north Arabian Sea, showcasing both conventional and unmanned capabilities, as per dictates of evolving naval warfare.

“The exercise included the successful live firing of LY-80 (N) surface-to-air missile from a vertical launching system at an extended range, validating the long-range capabilities of Pakistan Navy’s modern air defence systems,” said ISPR.

Not known yet. In the image it looks like 6-8 short ranged missiles in tube.

Older videos used to show HEl and HPM too. Now not shown.

so navy can counter low flying jets on sea which is difficult to ontercept

whats the range for the fe version?

No jet is going to fly into air defense range of a ship in the modern age, it's more to test effectiveness against Sea skimming Cruise missiles and drones

LY-80N they fired has a low ceiling of 15Km.
Indian jets fly higher than that.
Hmm. Higher than 49,000 ft doesn’t make jets safer, it makes them easier targets. Thin air improves radar detection and massively favours BVR missiles. PL-15’s dual-pulse motor is optimised for high-altitude intercepts, where it sustains peak speed and expands the no-escape zone. Altitude is an advantage for the missile, not the aircraft, especially the Indian air force or navy.
