Pakistan Navy | News & Discussions

Did navy ever come up with alternative AWACs plan? They really could use saabs or maybe eryie on sea sultan platform

If you read through the thread there was some interesting discussion on Sultans AEW capabilities

Sea Sultans can also be used as AWACS
Is it only as control centre or do they have any decent air/surface search set? I know they have a decent downwards surface search set.

PN personnel preferred the sole OHP in every aspect of operations to crew comfort to the F-22Ps. That should be verdict enough.
Speaking of the OHP is it still operational?

i had solid proof, unfortunately i no longer have it on hand however, i can guarantee you that the PN had seriously tried to buy CAMM-ER SL. Whether it happened or not i cant be sure of, BUT, IF it didnt happen, the ONLY reason would have been money. The PN REALLY wanted it. But i would be pretty confident that it has/will happen!

Due to OPSEC didn't post here before, but some time ago at some location where I happened to be due to technical nature of my own job, I saw a few MBDA engineers/people. Seemed like TFAs (Technical Field Assistants/Engineers) like the ones OEMs send for field work at client side.

Now since I have worked with such people I could identify them, so I am assuming MBDA people were there for either Spada 2000 work or CAMM-ER work..........because those are the only two systems from MBDA relevant for Pakistan

So could be they were there for CAMM-ER work........

I think that if Iran US war has taught anything is that your fancy multi billion USD systems are prone to suicide drone attacks........you don't even need a LORA or super sonic missile to knock out a ship, a single kamikaze drone can render it useless for a lot less cost.

Future warfare is gonna be all about saturation attacks, not ship to ship or air to air battles.

In that regard it is better PN procure smaller 800-1000 ton hulls as escorts which only carry AD/Counter UAV weapons, basically they act as weapons/vls/ammunition carriers which sail in coordination with larger ships. Endurance is not an issue since PN wouldn't be venturing too far out anyway.

an MBDA team was in Pakistan, for camm-er. I can tell you this for a fact, and this was AFTER the babur's.

So has the standers gotten better with newer ships?
