Any idea if Paramount Groups Chapter 11 Filing in August 2024 will affect Sea Sultan development? Just saw this recently but cant really be a good thing for PN. Although Pakistan should try to take the opportunity to snap up its engineers and project developers/managers into established defense and R&D organizations like NASTP, PAC, and GIDS for future local development and integration projects as they helped with Sea Sultan and many other projects in South Africa itself and merge them into

It is not good news for the programme for sure. There will be an embraer there for modification as the template for the rest of the programme. This will affect timelines, and question is can someone else pickup where they left off and continue the programme. There is a possibility some other company will buy them out and continue with their book of work, though i am not sure about that given the way things went with Denel. Also, Not sure about "snapping" up engineers, as I cant imagine any of them wanting to live in Pakistan, versus place like the UAE where a lot of Denel engineers have turned up as part of the formation of EDGE.

@Quwa this is real problematic. Sea Sultan is about to hit turbulent waters.

Perhaps they could spin up a new entity to carry on under, but who knows... This is a big loss to many programs globally even

The PN will most likely re-assign Leonardo as the main contractor (as it had been earlier).

OTOH, I suspect NASTP wants to get into original configuration work like this, as we can see with their AEW project. Likewise, I think the PAF might be aiming for an original ASOJ project instead of acquiring HAVASOJ off-the-shelf.

So, it's possible the LRMPA project eventually does come in-house.

good to see the numbers

PN has 3 x ATR for Maritime patrol but 2 more can be converted and I think those 2 ones are more younger age than the 3 that were converted in Germany

the 10 x Sea Sultans will definitely give Pakistan a good ASW capability

we need a modern medium lift helicopter although the Sea King is soldiering on and we have them in good numbers too

Z9C really needs to be replaced I think its rubbish

JF17 Block 3 for maritime strike defiantly a good asset
