*USS WAYNE E. MEYER ARRIVES AT KARACHI PORT*
The United States Navy ship USS WAYNE E. MEYER arrived at Karachi Port for a two-day visit, marking another milestone in the ongoing maritime cooperation between Pakistan Navy and United States Navy.
Pakistan Navy officials welcomed the visiting crew. The U.S. Chargé d’ Affaires and officials from the U.S. Consulate also attended the event.
As part of the visit, officers and sailors of USS WAYNE E. MEYER will collaborate with Pakistan Navy counterparts through professional interactions, combined training and focused operational dialogues. These activities are designed to enhance interoperability, foster mutual understanding, and strengthen operational coordination. The visit will conclude with a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in the North Arabian Sea, involving USS WAYNE E. MEYER and Ships of Pakistan Navy.

Pakistan needs to focus on controlling its extended EEZ, especially in terms of fisheries. Pakistan needs to be able to build and operate modern trawlers to properly fish the extended EEZ, in a sustainable manner. More trawlers in the EEZ will also allow Pakistan to monitor the extended EEZ better. Cooperation with Bangladesh in this regard would also be helpful as well…
I hope Pakistan hasn’t allowed unregulated fishing in its EEZ to other nations, even allies like China.

Absolutely, much more than shipping is our oil in the ocean. We have reserves near our shores. Which is why the future naval plans require near 50 combat ships to face off with near 300 Indian combat ships in the near future.
I wrote it a while ago and people here started insulting the person explaining. The plans are made per the threat perception and what all needs protection and the area / length of EEZ.
We also need 2/3 MUST have nuclear attack subs. Both to create a deterrence around the Gulf as well as have a second strike capability ourselves.
I think we'll see our Navy expand now with patrolling AOR from Indian border around Gujrat to Egyptian ocean due to the defense pact. And that's great because we'll probably put our nuclear attack subs near KSA also. Away from the Indian ocean in a conflict.
