Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

Location of deployment seems a little dangerous considering how close it is to iran

If Pakistan can secure that corridor. This will means no attack from Israel on iran.

By ensuring no attack on iran from Israel using this corridor, you have actually killed the reason for any possible iran-Ksa conflict. So we can actually stop these two countries from going to war with each other by ensuring this corridor is not used to attack iran. So keeping this in mind, I believe the king Abdul Aziz airbase is the perfect station for Pakistani assets.

Also, KSA hopefully have realized that American bases are not an asset but a liability. So they may start shifting their strategy and start focusing more on Pakistani support instead of USA.

Now if KSA can just help us buy more J-10Cs and J-35.

I am curious about the number of aircraft sent, 2 tankers suggests a force made up of 8-10 aircraft

Unsure, really. 2 tankers means one available and 1 spare.

If they are looking at doing a 2 ship 24/7 CAP my guess is we would need 6-8 planes.

For a 2 x 2 ship CAPS looking at around 10-12 planes

Why do you use the word "help"?

I provide you with security; you pay me in return. I use that payment to acquire better weapons and equipment, which then allows me to provide you with even better security. This is a normal, legitimate form of cooperation. We do not need to use the word "help" to describe it.

It's just a joke—don't take it too seriously! ;)

24/7 CAP is not really a possibility with such a small number of aircraft just too much strain on the Crews and Airframe not to mention the massive "maintenance debt" That would create, Atleast half squadron worth of Fighters would be needed anything less wouldn't really be meaningful.

You could do it for a week or so, but yes, long term you would just rotate crews and airframes

This is just reassurance to the Saudis

Its nothing more than that, Iran will have likely been taken into confidence

Not Saudi, Iran or Pakistan have any desire for conflict when we have real enemies like the Zionists to deal with

Saudi Ministry of Defense news: According to the defense agreement signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, a military force from Pakistan has arrived at King Abdulaziz Air Base. The Pakistani force includes fighter jets.

Yes and No. This is also to use it as a pressure tactic to push Iran to start talking seriously.

We don't need to pressure Iran, we also have no intention of pushing Iran into a injust agreement after they were attacked so brutally in a illegal act of war

We are reassuring our Saudi allies, as this alliance is important going forward

But all middle eastern countries will need to come together to make common agreements against the enemies outside

It ain't just about Iran, we have 2 million plus expats in GCC. Almost all our oil comes from there aswell. Even after the declaration of ceasefires there were attacks on KSA oil facilities, which IRGC denied. Which means Israelis/UAE might be trying to sabotage any peace deal. PAF deployment in the region is critical for safeguarding our interests in the region

Yes, very true.

Longer term we may need to look at Pakistanis working in UAE, get the feeling Visas for them will be difficult to come by going forward.....
