I have similar fears, reflection is a great thing. When I first heard of the pact I was very happy. But in a weird way now it feels like an entrapment. The other thing which bothers me is the Saudi's always give the US and western nations hard cash for men and material, but for Pak I only ever read about more soft loans, oil facilitates which need to be paid for later.

Maybe there are cash payments going on in the background, but its not being reported or leaked so until it is, this pact longer term could become a drag.

Only oil payments? Woow I Thought building and buy new military equipment and investing in Pakistan defence industry like Saudis have done for Egypt. That deal was Brokered bad !

Pakistan hast not any capacity to fight against Houthi or any other armed forces expect India- I don’t know how many Formations they want redeploy from own Frontiers. I think Saudis might roll over billions so Pakistan could fill that gap - but we are not seeing anything publicly!

If Pakistani PAF a month ago had not put up the huge security Umbrella for the Iranian Delegation from Iran to Pakistan return flight to Iran , the ISRAELI Airforce would have Assassinated the entire Iranian Delegation . Remember the Israelis and USA always attacks in the midst of “Negotiations” like they have done more than just a couple of times before. PAF and PAK Military has established itself on the world stage as an extremely competent military.
