This host status has been granted by Allah.. If others were deserving in this era this host status would have been given to them.. let alone collective.. tell me which sect or Fiq would have led the prayer or it would have been like Otoman times, separate Jamaat for separate fiq.. more divisions.. Also do u mean collective like OIC.. everyone know what’s OIC reputation and status.. Useless just like UN.. Allah is the best planner..

Whilst a collective of muslim countries administrating Mecca and Medina is an interesting idea, I think in practise its too difficult as both the holy cities fall within SA and are part of its sovereignty. The Saudi's pay for their upkeep and maintenance and its part of their country. For now muslim countries can offer protection and support of those cities if ever required.

In other words, some quite important developments occurring.
RSAF are using locally made penetration bombs to target Houthi terrorist cult missile bases and entrances which are monitored and tracked by the RSAF and Saudi Arabian satellites the second they make launches, which is why we saw extensive bombardments of missile launch sites in Saada, Amran, Sana'a and Hudaydah last night and during this day.
Yemeni Wa'ziya (most tribal society in the Arab world) tribes are mobilizing against the Houthi terrorist cult in beautiful and ancient Ta'izz (third largest city in Yemen) and elsewhere.
Yemeni army mobilization and preparation for any resumed large-scale hostilities with the Houthi cult.
Throwback to when the Saudi Arabian army was catching transgender Houthi terrorist cult militias:

It is an absurd idea (and frankly a provocation by that nobody) and it would be utter chaos if run by 50 + Muslim nations that cannot even agree on the basics. Imagine Makkah and Madinah turning into some grave worshipping backward un-Islamic nonsense and other past practices. Even if we had no money and our people starved, we would use the little money left on the upkeep of Makkah and Madinah. It is beyond any discussion and as you correctly and cleverly wrote, under Saudi Arabian control there are no longer any visible divisions among Muslim pilgrims during Hajj and Umrah and everyone prays together under the same banner. That was not the case less than 120 years ago.

What makes non-local (non-Hejazi) Muslims think that we locals want to be part of some "administrative entity" run by the world's Muslims (in a collective or whatever fashion) who are foreign to the region? It is an absurd idea. Makkah and Madinah was always inhabited by local Arab/Arabians and the same ancient Arab tribes and clans that inhabited it millennia ago inhabit it today largely. Same with local rule always being the case even if part of larger empires, local dynasties were controlling those beautiful, ancient and holy lands.
