I think...(not sure)..., but I think it may be a tad too late for that. Maybe you haven't been following the news as of late.
If the Saudi's were planning on telling the US, then why build such a Defence Pact?!!
That point of yours makes no sence.
Fact is, that this year alone, !srael has attacked:
1. Iran
2. Yemen
3. Syria
4. Lebanon
5. Qatar
The neighborhood needs muscle - and who better in these situation than Pakistan.
You think any Country thought, "Lets give India a call"
For Pakistan, everything fell in place at the right time - if one was to think about everything that has happened from as early as Donald Trump taking Office.
Trust me..., I don't think Pakistan is really concerened about Brownie Points when everyone knows we got the bigger stick.
1. !ndia has been been getting it as of late, every time they've attempted to tango with Pakistan. The World knows them to be a joke.
2. !srael is still wondering WTF just happened...

I don't think we will do a defence pact with the UAE. Those guys are too close to Indians and Israelis and they have been indirectly involved in facilitating unrest in Balochistan and elsewhere in the Middle East. I hope I'm wrong but they don't have a good reputation. Oman too has cozied up to Indians. There is some sort of Indian navy presence there. Qatar sounds way more logical here....

This is first mutual defence pact. This is very different then previous so called defence agreements.

Thats how you bring them close to you and away from India. They will look for their interests and India isn't putting boots on ground to defend them.

It is a good outcome IMHO and good news. Pakistan's nuclear umbrella will make sure Israel, at least for now, forget about annexing northern parts of KSA which is according to greater Israeli plan.

There is a difference.
A common Saudi is quite tribal and religious and the government fears them and often they are under pressure not to do anything crazy like becoming part of the Abraham Accords etc. When Pakistan tested its nuclear tests a common Saudi was celebrating it like a Pakistani was celebrating it. Those sentiments are still fresh.
The UAE is like 10% native and 90% expats and they've welcomed Indians in open arms so much so that literally the Indians have them by their balls due to massive investments. All these Emirates care about is doing business. They are more than content to sleep with the devil.
Also I would like to bring up Egypt here. I know people keep saying their government is illegitimate and corrupt and pro Israel etc etc. But if you ever go to Egypt and interact with Egyptians literally they are a combo of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Their government too won't do anything crazy like UAE and they actually did fight a war against Israel in the past so things cannot change that easily.

Of Course America is onboard, no shit. But Pakistan wouldn't sign mutual defence pact without getting any benefits in return.
For exemple now India will have to deal with diplomatic and economic backlash from SA if they do another SirGKal for election campaign on pretext of some false flag or internal insurgency attack without any proof whatsoever.
