The truth is painfully simple….Pakistan is compromised because the establishment and government refuse to tax the elite and refuse to implement deep, structural economic reforms. Instead of building a real economic foundation, the country survives on three fragile pillars, remittances, petroleum levies, and whatever tax can be squeezed out of ordinary citizens.
China understands this better than anyone. They are strategic, disciplined, and hard‑nosed businessmen, not sentimental donors. They do not hand out free loans, and they certainly do not bail out states that refuse to fix their own governance. For years, Beijing has watched Pakistan sabotage its own economy, stall reforms, and mismanage security. Their frustration is not a secret.
Many analysts argue that Pakistan’s economic paralysis is not accidental; it has been deliberately maintained to keep Western partners satisfied and to preserve the internal power structure. A weak economy means a dependent state, and a dependent state is easier to control. I think Moulana was alluding to this.
As I have always said, the establishment thrives in chaos. Disorder gives them leverage. A divided, economically crippled population cannot challenge the status quo. Most of the crises Pakistan faces today are not natural disasters, they are manufactured outcomes, engineered for short‑term institutional interests rather than long‑term national stability.
Ask yourself, they had power to make the changes, couldn’t they have improved situation in Balochistan? Instead of giving relief to Awam, they prefer Baloch sardar and money never reached the people of Balochistan. Same goes for other areas including Karachi.
