Pakistan Space Related News & Discussions

So its 6 imaging satellites of various types + 2 more to be launched soon
Plus 1-2 SAR. 1 for sure second one I don’t clearly remember.

SAR satellite @ 5:00 min. Launched early 2025.

PRSS 2018 (optical)
PakTES 2018 (optical)
EO1 2025(optical)
PAUSAT 2025 (optical)
EO2 2025 (SAR)
HS1 hyper spectral
EO3 2026 (SAR? Maybe)
EO4 2026 (optical)

List from my memory. Added numbers against EO based on the launch series, again based on my memory.

Note:

EO = earth observation not electro-optical.

I think EO stands for electro-optical and PRSC-S1 is the only SAR satellite.

When they launched it, it was simply called EO from what I remember. If you can dig out the news of the second launch of 2025, it will be helpful. You maybe right. And if so:

PRSS 2018 (optical)
PakTES 2018 (optical)
EO1 2025(optical)
PAUSAT 2025 (optical)
S1 2025 (SAR)
HS1 2025 (hyper spectral)
EO2 2026 (optical)
EO3 2026 (optical)

Supposing we want 3 of EO and SAR each, then 2 more SARs can be expected to be launched.

PRSS and PakTES might be nearing (may have reached) the end of their planned life.

furthermore I would add that we see the following families

PAKSAT are mainly communications
PRSS are mainly imaging
PakTES are technology test
PRSC / EO advanced imaging
iCUBE is R&D

for military most important are

PRSC / EO family High-resolution imaging
PRSS family Mapping + basic surveillance
PAKSAT family Secure communication and command & control links

and the latest launches over the last few years has been mainly PRSC / EO and PRSS

another words dual civilian/military use around 5-6 launches in 18 months

EO-3 → EO-2 → HS-1 → EO-1 → PRSS-2 → PAKSAT-MM1 → ICUBE-QAMAR

Part of Space Vision 2040 is more PRSC/EO and PAKSAT

Also GBAS/SBAS augmented navigation (PakNav). SBAS payload was was on MM1 if I remember correctly.

Pakistan has successfully launched its second indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite (EO-2), marking a significant milestone in the country’s advancing space capabilities. The launch of EO-2 reinforces Pakistan’s strong commitment to its national space program and long-term space development objectives.

EO-2 was conceived, engineered, and integrated in Pakistan at SUPARCO. Developed through in-house research and systems engineering, the satellite demonstrates growing national expertise in satellite design, payload integration, system testing, and mission readiness.

Designed to operate alongside EO-1, EO-2 enhances the interpretation of surface features and enables more reliable change detection under varying illumination conditions. The satellite improves imaging continuity and strengthens analytical accuracy across Earth observation applications.

The EO-2 mission further strengthens Pakistan’s Earth observation fleet, supports applied research and human resource development, and advances the country’s objective of building dependable, domestically engineered space systems for planning, governance, and resource management.

damn , did not know we had good number of SATs , great work by SUPARCO . only a single Hyper spectral SAT? are their more to come?

Would be nice if they launch a SigInt satellite 😁

In sha allah , but i think we need a dedicated Signit based aircraft first , would help in SEAD a lot then move onwards with the more expensive signit sat

DA 20s and Havasoj in the future have Sigint capability, so do erieyes and Sea sultans

to compare the 57 Muslim nations vs Israel in satellites

we have 8-10 totally military dedicated satellites and 25-35 dual use mainly Turkey, Pakistan, Iran , Malaysia and Indonesia + Arabs (Saudi + UAE)

Israel has 10+ military alone

also 57 Muslim nations are Separate national systems, Regional, uncoordinated with zero data communication or integration

Israel has Single coordinated network, Highly advanced and Focused, continuous surveillance

off course Israel has access to Americans but I am not even counting that

just shows Muslim nations need to do so much more

We really need to stop this Muslim vs X, we are in this pretty much alone.

@Bilal I think having a 60-70 active satellites by the 2035 will be good goal to have, we will likely have 30 by 2030.
