Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Rallies / Protests

Establishment needs to understand a simple thing. After last general elections when Establishment stole the mandate, most people want them to piss off back in the sidelines.

Anything else would just keep building up the resentment and no patriot wants that kinda bloodshed in Pakistan.

But establishment believes they helped Imran Khan come to power, they sponsored the long marches and darnas and the same IK then turned on them. We all used to encourage army and Judiciary to intervene and remove Zardari and Nawaz. What if Imran Khan PTI wins again and then after 3 years Zardari buys all PTI MNAs and removes IK again. You see all political leaders encourage and pressurise the establishment to intervene on their behalf, but once in power want the army back in barracks.

At the moment the best solution is to release Imran Khan, hold talks with all political parties, make agreements and allow free and fair elections, let the winner rule.

آنے والی رات میں اگر کسی حرام خور نے شہری پر حملہ کرنے کی کوشش کی تو شہریوں کا ردعمل اتنا ہی سخت ہو گا۔

This is by design. And it will continue so long as the populace are in a state of apathy when it comes to the status quo.

You want to see governance, check out the koora karkat, collection by RDA/CCB on any given weekend. Can't even collect trash from the designated trash heap, these people are unfit to govern.

#Leadbydonkeys

Not sure about Punjab and elsewhere but in AJK the government MNAs Loot and Loot till the next elections, the MNAs share the Loot with their local mafias who keep the locals in control through their gunda gardi, the MNAs also give sarkari jobs to loyalists and families who then become allies of the MNAs, any new person is not given space and even if given they will loot 2x more. All these people are the smartest and intelligent from the populace, and money and power is their religion.

But establishment believes they helped Imran Khan come to power
They believing or not doesn't matter shit. These military officers are servants of awaam. I don't understand why yall treat em like over lords.

First time Imran Khan came there's another convincing theory that establishment took some of their seats to control em. And we all know how they brazenly stole PTI 2/3 majority in last election.
We all used to encourage army and Judiciary to intervene and remove Zardari and Nawaz.
We didn't. It was the generation before us ( before my Gen Z and other millineals ) jinkay gunnah aur beghairti ki saza ab humay mil rahi hay no offence.

I agree with you here fully sir.

Cant blame them for that when all the Police does is do violence on protestors.
Yes but in cases like this dafa 99 will apply. This is why it's not a good idea to use violence when people are retreating. From a completely balc and white legal perspective in that video the protesters are the criminals.

We need to be careful of optics.

Pro PMLN folks here were saying its BAU in Islamabad.

Unfortunate that it has come down to this. This was the only way to force the establishment hand to negotiate. Otherwise they thought they could do anything with impunity. Election rigging, blackmailing judges, keeping political workers in jail for no reason.

Let’s hope the Generals and PDM cabal let go their ego and let the party which won on the merits of Form 45 rule.

PTI protesters reach D-Chowk amid intense tear gas shelling

Army reportedly called into capital as 4 personnel dead in violence; PTI claims 2 dead in "shooting" at protesters.

Dawn.com | Nadir Guramani | Umar Bacha
November 26, 2024

As several PTI protesters reached Islamabad’s D-Chowk, intense tear gas shelling was reported as security forces sprung into action amid a stalemate in talks between the government and the opposition party.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned what he said was an “attack by protesters”, which the interior minister said resulted in the deaths of at least four security personnel.

The incident comes as PTI convoys — plying roads countrywide since Sundaygather in Islamabad for a much-touted power show to demand the release of its founder Imran Khan, among other things.

What we know so far:

  • PM Shehbaz condemns “attack by protesters” that left 4 personnel dead
  • PTI alleges Rangers fired live ammunition, killing 2 protesters, injuring 4 others
  • Mobile data remains suspended for fourth day
  • State media says army deployed under Article 245 to handle “miscreants”
  • Belarusian president addresses media with PM Shehbaz in Islamabad
  • PSX plunges 3,500 points on political uncertainty

Visuals shared by a Dawn.com correspondent present at the scene show dozens of PTI protesters gathering near Islamabad’s D-Chowk and climbing up containers placed there to obstruct their way.

Army personnel were also standing on top of a container, the correspondent said.

D-Chowk, a roundabout in Islamabad’s heavily fortified Red Zone, has long served as a spot for political protests. The junction leads to critical government buildings, including Parliament House, the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Pakistan Secretariat, and the Prime Minister’s Office.

Later visuals showed protesters converging about 550 metres away from D-Chowk, where as many as three layers of containers could be seen piled atop each other.

The government and the PTI have apparently opened a ‘back-channel’ for the sake of negotiations.

Last night, Naqvi seemed to confirm talks with the protesting opposition party, saying that the government had offered Sangjani — the same venue on the outskirts of Islamabad where the PTI held its Sept 8 rally — for the protest.

Late-night media reports suggested that PTI leaders were trying to prevail upon Imran’s wife Bushra Bibi, who is leading the main caravan of protesters coming from KP to Islamabad, to accept the proposal to change the protest venue.

Dawn quoted police officers as saying that the convoy of the PTI leaders and workers coming from KP comprised over 34,000 persons.

On Nov 13, Imran Khan issued a “final call” for nationwide protests on Nov 24, demanding the restoration of the PTI’s electoral mandate, the release of detained party members and the reversal of the 26th Amendment, which he said has strengthened a “dictatorial regime”.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said three Rangers personnel and a Punjab policeman lost their lives on Monday, in what he said was an “attack by miscreants”.

Addressing the media at Islamabad’s D-Chowk, Naqvi said: “Yesterday, a total of our four people were martyred, including three Rangers and a Punjab police official.”

Stating that two Rangers and four Islamabad policemen were in critical condition, Naqvi said two additional superintendent of police (ASP) and a superintendent of police (SP) were among the injured.

The minister further said that 70 Punjab cops were also injured, five of whom were in critical condition.

In an earlier statement issued by his ministry, Naqvi had said four Rangers personnel had lost their lives in an alleged attack, condemning it in the strongest terms.

Meanwhile, state-run Radio Pakistan reported the deaths of five personnel, including three Rangers and two Punjab police.

“Scores of others were injured in attacks by the violent PTI workers,” the report claimed, adding that 22 vehicles of the Punjab police had been damaged.

“The police have arrested several violent protesters, while [the] process of identifying the perpetrators is underway,” the state media asserted.

A previous report had also stated that “five other Rangers personnel and several police officials sustained severe injuries”.
