Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Rallies / Protests

Punjab with its 150 million is indeed the key. Especially because the core demographic the establishment, (outside of itself) that it hopes to maintain the cooperation of, is in Punjab, especially in an around Lahore.
Wow, Punjab is already 150 million... In my head it's still around 100 mil...

I'm in Isloo ATM, just talked to my uncle who's a teacher, a die-hard patriot, he was very depressed, could not say much, was saying let's see where it would lead to now, Allah kher kre etc..

People are afraid to talk openly on phone calls, everyone's afraid of these khaki bast@rds of course.

Things are going to cook slowly I guess, we would see the after shocks in a few months.

If were CIA/RAW, I would hit the nail now...

This is what Asim Munir and rest of napak boj wants by unleashing violence disproportionally to instill the fear in masses so that nobody could dare to stand against these Firons.

In 1971 the Bengalis were crushed by operation searchlight and the Pakistan Army had conquered most of East Bengal with ease.

It was only the Soviet-sponsored Indian attack which relieved pressure on the Bengalis and allowed their joint forces to succeed.

Today, no foreign country is going to invade Pakistan to save PTI. Not unless they want to be glassed by hundreds of nuclear bombs.
That is one reason why Balochistan is not getting independence anytime soon - not enough people and well entrenched unless Iran decides it wants a piece.

But searchlight was holding things off and would have been difficult to sustain that in the long run - but yes - without proper foreign intervention the MB would not have been enough.

Heck, at the end it took an invasion to take Saddam out or large scale military defections to do Gaddhafi.

Only the latter is possible in Pakistan through an ethnic conflict - but all these wishful ideals ignore the human cost it will all entail even if one side is able to prove the “moral” requirement for it.

Failed states and repressive regimes do what is happening in Pak, the west dont kill protesters.
You already forgot the SWAT teams and snipers deployed in response to Gaza protests by college kids?

"Gandapur will not be arrested, but Bushra Bibi will," says senator

  • Vawda slams PTI leaders for remaining "absent" during protest.
  • Says woman who wanted to march on D-Chowk "ran away".
  • "PTI leadership agreed Bushra Bibi created trouble for them."

Following the recent "violence" in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) thee-day long protest that was put off abruptly in the wee hours of Wednesday, Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that the former ruling "is going to be banned".

"[Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will not be arrested, but Bushra Bibi [Imran Khan’s wife] will," he said while speaking on Geo News programme 'Capital Talk' on Wednesday.

His remarks came as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to table a resolution in the Balochistan Assembly, seeking a ban on PTI after the Imran Khan-founded party put off its planned protest sit-in following clashes with security forces in Islamabad in the wee hours of Wednesday.

As PTI supporters marched on Islamabad’s D-Chowk — the main destination for the party’s sit-in, the police and security forces fired teargas shelling to disperse the protesters.

Subsequently, Gandapur and Bushra Bibi — who were leading the caravans — fled in a car, along with the activists, leading the party to "postpone" its much-hyped protest.

The protest was staged against the "illegal" incarceration of PTI founder Imran Khan, other party leaders and workers, the "stolen mandate" in the February 8 general elections and the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

Earlier in July, the incumbent government announced its plans to ban the former ruling party for its "involvement" in the May 9 riots, which saw military installations being vandalised, and the party's alleged attempts to sabotage Pakistan's deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Speaking on the programme today, Vawda castigated the PTI leadership for remaining "absent" during the protest, asking where was Omar Ayub Khan — Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly.

"A woman said she would march on D-Chowk but later ran away," he said, while referring to Bushra Bibi, adding that the former first lady has a "major role" in bringing PTI to "dead end".

He further claimed the entire PTI leadership admitted that Bushra Bibi created trouble for the party, noting that they should have agreed to shift the protest to Islamabad's Sangjani.

The Senator was referring to the government’s offer of an alternate protest venue to PTI, which Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said Imran Khan had agreed upon. However, Bushra Bibi refused and was adamant on reaching D-Chowk.

Furthermore, Vawda said that PTI leadership have "completed preparations" to keep Imran in jail.

Without naming anyone, he said that the May 9 events were carried out on a "vulture’s" orders. "Vulture is the one who benefitted from £190 million, brokered through the former prime minister," he added.

PML-N to table resolution seeking ban on 'anarchist' PTI
PTI "anarchist agenda" affected country's every sector, says resolution to be moved in Balochistan Assembly

  • PML-N to table resolution in Balochistan Assembly tomorrow.
  • PTI has turned into "political anarchist" group: Resolution.
  • PML-N's Khosa urges Centre to "ensure ban on PTI".

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to table a resolution in the Balochistan Assembly, seeking a ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), following "violence" in its thee-day long protest that ended abruptly in the wee hours of Wednesday.

PML-N parliamentary leader Saleem Khosa would table the resolution against the former ruling party, which he believes has turned into a "political anarchist" group, today.

In the resolution — a copy of which is available with Geo News, Khosa claimed that the PTI, which has been at loggerheads with the incumbent government, was responsible for the May 9 events — a reference to the violent protest broke out last year following PTI founder Imran Khan's arrest and saw attacks on public properties including military institutions in many parts of the country.

"Once again, it [the former ruling party] is carrying out violent actions," it stated, noting that PTI's "anarchist agenda" has affected the country's system and every sector, including judiciary, media and the economy.

The resolution further stated that a provincial chief executive’s attempts to open a front against the Centre were tantamount to advancing the anti-state’s power agenda.

Furthermore, it said the KP government’s attempts to attack the Centre, with state machinery, are proof of the non-political agenda of a political party.

He urged the federal government to "ensure a ban on PTI" after the recent violence in Islamabad.

In the early hours of Wednesday, the Imran Khan-founded party announced a "temporary suspension" of its "do-or-die" protest following a midnight crackdown by the law enforcers, which effectively dispersed the PTI workers.

The protest was staged against the "illegal" incarceration of PTI founder Imran Khan, other party leaders and workers, "stolen mandate" in February 8 general elections and 26th Constitutional Amendment.

PTI says that eight of its members were killed in the stand-off with the law enforcers, while government officials say that three Rangers personnel were martyred along with two other police personnel.

The latest protest episode was part of the PTI's months-long efforts to secure Khan's release who has been behind bars in Rawalpindi's Adiala jail in various cases for more than a year now.

Pakistan is now doomed to become a mediocre nation. The powers that be will make sure Pakistan and Pakistanis never prosper so that they can maintain their feudalist system.

The Pakistani project is on the verge of failing.

People like @FOOLS_NIGHTMARE are obviously on a payroll. I don't really care if it gets me in trouble saying this. Why he's tolerated, I don't know, but this new forum was supposed to be a fresh start with zero interference from the usual suspects.

Agreed.

The donkeys can have it.
Anyone with half a brain is fleeing.

How many did they kill?
Did the protestors engage in violence? How many American protestors have killed police men?

In America (and the whole world incl. Pakistan) if you're a cop killer it's generally understood you'll be killed.

How many casualties have the rangers and police taken so far?

Did you see the look on Asim Muneer's face when he carried the coffin of one of the personnel?

Again, I'm no fan of the current regime - but PTI is fucked. Imran's ego destroyed it while his cult like fanbased cheered.

That is the unfortunate reality - and the death of any educated middle class “investment” in Pakistan.

IK had THE BEST opportunity regardless of covid or otherwise to truly change the system pragmatically but the egoistic buffoon threw it down the drain.

Riyasat e Madina took 15 years to establish and a movement 20 to truly complete and this so called Kaptaan wanted to try to do it in 1 year.

Yes Asim looked like a drunk MoFO and Shabaz had this wicked smile to show how he is playing the army.
These generals have lower IQ than Patwaris and yes protestors attack the police all the time....I live in the USA and I have seen with my own eyes.....They never ever use live fire to fight back.

Rangers died in a car accident no one shot them.....Hundreds are killed and the blame lies sqauarely with the army.

The hope of a free nation is dead. I wonder what Muhammad Ali Jinnah would have done, if he knew this would happen. Perhaps heads would roll before the declaration of independence (or even after), or perhaps Pakistan wouldn't exist.

This has been disappointing. I've already advised my remaining family (including cousins) to pack their bags and leave. They all have degrees in high demand fields, they can get jobs anywhere. A few have already left and went to the UAE, Germany, France, Spain and the UK, with at least two of my cousins planning to come to Canada. Anyone with even a little bit of post-secondary education should think about leaving.

What an idiotic and rediculous statement.....IK made sure we survived COVID and our economy survived as well...he reversed the brain drain and educated people like myself came back and invested in Pakistan....

Remeber Roshan digital account....It has $9B balance from over seas Pakistanis who invested in it upon his appeal...in reality there is a ZERO balance today should they ask for their money back.

You should thank IK for making Pakistan proud during its fight with India and starting IT industry. while your leaders run to Switzerland for a minor cough he gave Health card to 100M Pakistanis......which by the way your daddy cancelled and used saved money to take his family for the European trip.

If were CIA/RAW, I would hit the nail now...

Why TF would you do that?

We are imploding by ourselves, killing our own people, complete blackouts everywhere, Sisi/Kim/Putin/Xi all in one, but landay wala, why in God's name would you poke your hand in this sinking ship. Let it sink by itself.
