Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Rallies / Protests

There has been BDS like narrative being built on social media to boycott Fauji affiliated products and services.

Suffice to say this is disturbing.

The Army as an institution should deeply introspect and arrest the pattern before it gets out of control.

Correct me, is Asim going to stay for another 3-4 years now that the Chief tenure is extended to 5 years?

Disinformation minister - not a single bullet was fired.
Advisor to PM - not more than 10 protesters were killed.
MOI - Security forces had no live ammunition. Protesters killed their own people.
Litany of Lies !!!!!

EDITORIAL: Renewed talk about banning one of the country’s largest political parties shows nothing but the impoverishment of democratic thought in the Pakistani power elite.

Following the forcible eviction of the PTI’s latest protest from the federal capital, some entities have once again taken to describing the party as a ‘terrorist outfit’ and are seeking its proscription. Thankfully, the PPP, JUI and some others have opposed the measure, calling it a bad idea.

Others, perhaps most surprisingly the ANP, have made no bones about the fact that they wish to see the PTI removed from the picture completely.

In just two years, he has brought the army to a level of destruction that seems irreparable. Just imagine what could happen if he remains the Chief of Army Staff for another 2 to 3 years. Let me share an example—my own cousin, who recently retired from the army, posted a picture of General Asim Munir on Facebook, and the backlash he faced from our other cousins was unprecedented.

This man must go; he belongs in prison.

It seems some in the public are contemplating a social and economic boycott of Faujis.

For the sake of the institution, the corp commanders can blame it all on Munir and ditch him; send him to exile in a GCC country. They need a face saving move that maintain order and discipline in the ranks, while they accept the writing on the wall and make a plan to bring IK back to a high office and carry out heavy economic reforms in IK’s name. Fix the political and economic mess such that the country gets back on track and the institution can regain its reverence in society.

Without resolution, a public frustrated and prone to conspiracies, in the face of worsening economics, will not think twice before accepting reports of atrocities. I’m not saying these reports are true or false, but that won’t matter. It feeds into a narrative solidifying in many people mind, even in well connected families in elite circles and the diaspora. Only a proper course correction will change people’s minds. No amount of spin will work.

Also God Forbid Army units are attacked in KPK and this situation escalated into a major operation. This is why the corp commanders have to act ASAP for the sake of the nation and the institution of the Army.

Releasing IK alone won’t do the trick either. The risk of mass popular mobilization will only increase. IK has to be brought into office, to satisfy the masses. I am also saying that on the back of his return, if he happens to be made to take the blame for economic reforms the country badly needs, it can deal with two problems with one move. Considering how unpopular these efforts will be in the short term (3-5 years), it’s possible his party could lose the next election. But that will give time for all other parties to reform on a basis of competence.

Btw, With a stable and fast growing economy, the army will get an increase in funding and pay.

It’s important to understand that Khan is an incredibly clever leader and a master strategist in opposition. On the other hand, the general leading the army stands in opposition to him and is, quite frankly, operating on a level of stupidity that is hard to comprehend. Adding to this, the general is being influenced by a woman who controls Punjab—a person whose level of incompetence is even more staggering.
