Chief of the General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu held a phone conversation with Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Commander of the Pakistan Armed Forces and Army.

The Pakistan Air Force and Turkish Air Force (Türk Hava Kuvvetleri) have always maintained very close relations through routine pilot exchanges, courses and exercises.

The F-5 photo, courtesy of Mazhar Islam, was taken during a Fighter Conversion Course on the F-5 at Merzifon Air Base of the Turkish Air Force in 1972. In total, twelve PAF officers completed the course; six were at Merzifon and the other six at Bandirma (preferred location).
