Pakistan vows to defend Saudi Arabia against Iran-backed Houthis by ‘whatever means’

It's so cringe Pakistanis lining up to defend Saudis who consider you to be worth no more than a penny. I genuinely don't understand the obsession some Pakistanis have with Arabs, specifically Saudis. This war of choice is taking place 1000s of miles away from our borders, does not in any way impact us and yet its the Pakistanis itching to get involved. Talk about being insecure. If only our people put as much effort in bettering our country, we wouldn't be a banana Republic.
You're simplifying a state's compulsion with overall spread emotions of people across for Saudi Arabia.

The state is compelled for reasons that go both historical, economic and diplomatic.
That is being limited as much as possible to not create any undue friction with the Saudis - that is compulsion.

Then there is Pakistanis who differ on the subject such as yourself who has valid points on Saudi mistreatment of South Asians - but ignores also where Pakistanis themselves have abused both the sacred pilgrimage and their representation for criminal activities.

Then, there is additional ignorance of "does not involve you"
Where you suppose petrochemical supplies for Pakistan which run everything from transportation to goods manufacturing to electricity come from? Manghopir? Manchester?

Your state is running at basically few days worth of reserve to even sustain military operations on the already reduced and expensive logistics pipeline from the Gulf - who - while selling to you at market rate still defer payments for your pauper state.

So no - this 1000's of miles away conflict is for your own state to not shut down and default.

Some of us also see it as a beginning, our increasing footprint and presence on Saudi/Mideast/Arab soil and to finally start the painstalking slow but definite process of finally liberating Palestine and Al-Aqsa. INSHALLAH
The mere presence of PAKISTAN(our people and military) there is enough to send discomforts and alarms in the zionists hearts. They hate us, and will worry about our increasing presence. Shayad Allah SWT ki merzi b isi mei hai? Zamana Akhir mei konsi fauj leraygi zionists ke khilaf? Ask yourselves....

The great Allama Iqbal has said and advised us in his poetry:
Sabaq Phir Parh Sadaqat Ka, Adalat Ka, Shujaat Ka
Liya Jaye Ga Tujh Se Kaam Dunya Ki Imamat Ka

there can be lots of things wrong with us, we're not perfect, but when Allah wills, HE makes things happen. Maybe in that process we will be molded and refined and will be able to accomplish the tasks as required.
Dunia ko umeed b kis se hai? Indonesians se? Bengalis se? Tunisia se? Malaysians se?
I think the answer is obvious, sabko humse hee umeed hai. Only the Pak and Turk armies are prepared and capable Allhumdulillah

You guys obviously can differ and not agree on this but this is another viewpoint to ponder. Agar mujhse pucho gay to mujhe apni fauj se hee umeed hai, baqiyon ka pata nahi.

Only the Pak and Turk armies are prepared and capable Allhumdulillah
As @Oscar has pointed out so well, it is more about compulsion than preparation and capability.

Half of Pakistan's foreign reseves are Saudi deposits and there is deep economic dependence on them. Turkiye is not as dependent on them, which is why they are still only "considering " deploying forces in a defensive role and have completely ruled out any offensive role. Pakistan does not have the same luxury.

The Ministry of Information dismissed on Thursday a news report claiming that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircraft were being used against the Yemen’s Houthis as “fake and fabricated”.

A New York Times report published on Oct 7, a screenshot of which the ministry shared in an X post, cited an unnamed source as saying that PAF fighter jets were being employed against the group, amid the latter’s escalating conflict with Saudi Arabia.

But the information ministry denied the report, saying in a post on X that the NYT story “attributing the employment of PAF aircraft against Houthis is fake and fabricated”.

“International media houses are again asked to avoid speculative reporting with regards to employment of Pakistan’s military forces under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

“Details of any deployment, if necessary, will be given by the authorities concerned,” it added.

Earlier this week, the ministry also termed a Reuters report claiming the deployment of 30,000 to 40,000 Pakistani troops in Saudi Arabia as “speculative”.

The development comes after Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye agreed to the deployment of military forces and capabilities rapidly in the kingdom during an emergency meeting of the Makkah Defence Alliance in Riyadh on Monday.

The defence pact, signed on Aug 7, aims to strengthen collective deterrence and empower its signatory states to treat an attack against one of them as an attack against all of them.

Monday’s meeting under the alliance was held to address the security developments and threats facing Saudi Arabia.

A statement issued by the Foreign Office after the meeting said the member states had “decided to move immediately to the practical implementation of the collective defence commitments and to take the necessary measures to provide the agreed military forces and capabilities and ensure their rapid deployment in the kingdom, in accordance with the approved arrangements and the national legislation of the parties, thereby enhancing readiness, military integration, and the collective capacity to confront and counter threats”.

Separately, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, who was part of Pakistan’s delegation in the meeting, joined Geo News programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath’ via telephone the same day and said Saudi Arabia had made “gains and recovered some areas” in Yemen in the ongoing fighting with the Houthis.

Asked about a possible operational role by Pakistan and Turkiye, the defence minister replied that both nations had a “presence in theatre”, but only Saudi troops were involved in combat operations.

On Wednesday, Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry also said Pakistani troops are in Saudi Arabia, adding that they had been in the kingdom “for decades” and across multiple domains.

The Houthis have declared a maritime blockade on the kingdom and targeting its ships in the Red Sea. Both sides have claimed strikes on each other as tensions remain high.

On Thursday, the Houthis claimed that they had struck the Saudi capital’s main international airport with a ballistic missile, in another attack on the kingdom claimed by the group.

A day ago, Saudi authorities said three people were killed and 36 injured in attacks on two of the kingdom’s international airports including in the capital Riyadh, after Yemen’s Houthis claimed to have fired on both transport hubs.

For its part, a Saudi-led coalition that backs pro-government forces in Yemen said on X that it “destroyed the ballistic missile launch platform” used in the attack on Riyadh.

The Houthis, who control most of the country’s northwest, are battling for territory against the Saudi-backed forces after the civil war reignited in July and they captured swathes of coastal land.

Yemen’s internationally recognised government this week declared a major counter-offensive and said Houthi fighters were pushed out of strategic areas on the Red Sea and the port city of Mocha.

But the Houthis say they are holding their territory, and military sources from both sides contacted by AFP have not reported any major changes on the ground.

Claims by the warring parties have been impossible to independently verify with the situation moving fast and access for journalists difficult.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

On Sept 18, Lt Gen Chaudhry said Pakistan would go to “any extent” to defend the Gulf state, adding that Islamabad’s commitment to the kingdom’s security is “unconditional”.

Asif has also reaffirmed that Pakistan will “practically and diplomatically” stand by Saudi Arabia against Yemen’s Houthi rebels if the situation escalates. The defence minister said that Pakistan would fulfil all its obligations under the Makkah Defence Alliance in accordance with the terms of the agreement between the three countries.

At the same time, Pakistan has also asserted that the alliance is intended for collective deterrence and defensive in nature.

Trust me when Pakistan military get involved their will be no podium speakes and warnings it will happen at 4am at night any way houti are already losing numbers in massive scale their is a media black out from Saudi site in operation reality you do media back out no one know who is doing night raids with Air Force on houti position but low attitude night raids are signature of PAF. Saudi don’t have that capability they do high attitude night raids and the devastation happening on houti positions tell a different story low attitude night raids follow by night attack helicopters talking out houti fighters and in morning yeman international force just advance easily and has already gain high attitude position and another thing Pakistan paf has 9 poilet to 1 jet ratio that surplus it difficult to see even who is flying Saudi Air Force also in the first place

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has a “substantial” number of forces deployed in Saudi Arabia acting in a defensive capacity, Pakistan’s foreign ministry spokesman said on Friday.

“From Pakistan already we have substantial number of forces as well as resources in town, in Riyadh,” foreign ministry spokesman Sajjad Haider Khan told journalists, adding Pakistani military personnel in the kingdom “would not be crossing the borders of the other side for an attack on the Houthis, but of course (is acting) in the defense of the territory.”

Pakistani military spokesman Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry earlier confirmed the deployment of Pakistani forces to Saudi Arabia under the recently signed Makkah Joint Defense Agreement, saying Pakistani soldiers were discharging duties in the Kingdom in “multiple capabilities and domains.”

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye signed the defense agreement in Makkah on Aug. 7, 2026, which committed the three countries to treat an armed attack on one member as an attack on all, marking one of the region’s most significant new collective security arrangements.

Okay, so you're not wrong, and i dont disagree with you.

Pakistan, as a state, has joined this conflict for two reasons: religion and money. There is literally no other than reason for Pakistan to be anywhere near this conflict. Its such a shame that our country is literally surviving on handouts and is basically forced to shed the blood of its citizens so that few barrels of oil given as handouts to our state keep flowing.

When I question or call out my country, I don't do so from a point of ignorance (I know the reasons) but from the perspective of when the F will our people wake up and focus on our nation? I personally would starve (or let go of oil in this case) than fight for people who consider me and my people to be beneath them. Its about time we focus our resources on our nation and not be at the mercy of Arabs to keep bailing us out.

Some of us also see it as a beginning, our increasing footprint and presence on Saudi/Mideast/Arab soil and to finally start the painstalking slow but definite process of finally liberating Palestine and Al-Aqsa. INSHALLAH
Out of 50 odd Muslim nations on this planet, why is it specifically Pakistan's duty to liberate Holy sites/Palestine?

Palestine is not Pakistan's responsibility. That is Saudi Arabia's responsibility.

Curious, has Pakistan parliament approved these deployments?

We have always been in Saudi Arabia, in many aspects, for its security.
(specially for our 2 holy cities and mosques). :D

there is no need for any stupid approvals for such deployment(s).
Our commitment is Absolute.

Are some people worried or concerned ??
