Pakistan's leaders dread US Democrats win but its households are praying for it

So the American dollar still talks?

Good to know. I was getting worried there.
American walked into a burger place with his wife. Told me he had this huge ranch and ordered a burger. As his order turned up - he got his card out to pay. Sadly for him - cash only. Felt so embarrassed for him. Told the bloke to put his food bill on my tab and paid for it. He turned round and insisted on giving me $40. My son is dead excited hes now got that greenback in his wallet with his pounds - so ye that dollar is still in demand!!

You live in the US. By any chance have you noticed Congress be it Republican or Democrat have no issues cuddling up with foreign governments to cut backroom deals and garner influence?

John Kerry, who should have been in the brig for what he did, as a private citizen was in violation of the Logan Act.

Nothing happened.
Congress shamelessly trades stock they oversee, so I'm not surprised they would be meeting with foreign governments for God knows what. They are invited on junkets, wined and dined, donations are made to favorite charities, and offers of future employment are made.

I'm sure former politicians violate the Logan Act all the time because it's a hard crime to prove without hard evidence. Some will argue they were engaging in backdoor diplomacy.

Like @K2RULEZ , I was not aware El-Sayed is married to an Indian.

Now, it should be noted her family's religious background is Muslim. It is not known if she herself is a practicing Muslim.
It is worth noting that history has revealed to us that the "Muslimness" of the Hindustani is of no relevance when it comes to the matter of Pakistan, much like the "Muslimness" of the Afghan is also irrelevant, albeit for different reasoning.

They have their agenda and we have ours. Pakistan will defend the Pakistani hindu and the Pakistani Christian and the Pakistani atheist alike from any Indian Muslim who happens to cross our border with hostile intent.

Such is the nature of things. Indeed, we wear the jealousy of Indian muslims on our shirts as a badge of honour, right next to the one earned from the Afghan's hatred of us.

Nice of you to actually give him a chance to pay before stepping in!

It has to be said, the Democrats are traditionally closer to Hindustan. Even though Modi toadies show affection towards the Republicans for hating Muslims. This was predicted from the very beginning. As soon as the Democrats hold power in the US, expect full agitation, anger and hostility towards Pakistan. Also expect the same targeting of Pakistani nuclear and missile program.

Foreign policy belongs to Trump. Thr Democrats will throw spanners in the work. No doubt about that.

I'm not sure 100% but I have a feeling things may be different this time around, as there is simply too much going on in geopolitics and the American Govt does not have alot of friends left in the region.....they may, as always, NEED Pakistan even more now as an ally.

Obviously all bets would be off if shit hits the fan, for example, devastating wars grip the region as usual.

They have a problem with Pakistan's alliance with China.

Also they would have preferred if Pakistan was non nuclear, submissive to India and out the way like Bangladesh.

I don't have high hopes. We are still 2 years away from a new administration.

Notice how El-Sayed their Muslim poster boy has an Indian wife. He has already gone on record saying Pakistan should not get US funding and questioned the legitimacy of its leadership. Disrespectful piece of shit.

As a U.S. citizen myself, I do believe we shouldn't fund any foreign government, including Pakistan, as well as Israel and other shit holes, including regimes like Egypt.

Foreign policy is the POTUS's exclusive domain. Congress can't pass bills that affect foreign policy, except for funding. If passed, it would be symbolic only.
That is so wrong that you had to immediately contradict yourself. Congress has very clear Article I powers in the foreign policy domain and there are areas of friction which will have to be adjudicated by courts. Congress has exclusive jurisdiction over not just the power of the purse, but also international commerce, approving executive appointments like ambassadors, approving treaties, declaring war, etc. It also has oversight powers over the executive.

In practice, Congress often does explicitly delegate some level of operational discretion to the President , like it did on the recent Russia sanctions bill, but it will not do if it knows the President intends to use the discretion to subvert its will.

As a practical matter, Congress could impose tarrifs on Pakistan without any discretion to the President to override them, stop all aid and even defund the embassy in Islamabad, though it cannot force the President to cut off diplomatic relations with the hybrid/ military regime. If Congress passes a law banning Asim Munir or DG ISI / ISPR from entering the country, the President cannot just ignore it. He will have to go to court and argue that the generals are the real rulers of Pakistan and the law passed by Congress is unconstitutional because it prevents him from managing day to day relations with the Pakistani state.

Most of the same world wants to see the back of Trump. His foreign policy volatility and brand of policy making via social media has killed the markets.

You are equating Pakistan's deep state with the country as a whole. The Democrats are more supportive of the democratic and human rights of the common people in Pakistan and other countries. Those who believe in Pakistan's Constitution and rule of law should welcome their policies.

Just to be clear, this is Hilary Clinton's, Barack Obama's, and Kamala Harris's Democrats you are talking about, right? Or did they suddenly transform to something else that magically wishes success for Pakistan? The facade lasts about 5 minutes with these serpents.

Did you ever see Malala and Clinton's interactions btw? Truly stomach churning.

Pakistan is ready for the Dems as much as we were ready for the Reps. In fact, we have had pretty much the same experience of both parties since our inception. I don't know why you continue to underestimate your deep state.

Keep in mind, we have dealt with Indian Congress politics since Nehru. We know snakes when we see them lurking.

It all comes down to dollar, Pakistan is not getting any aid from US, barely any new weapon systems, just regular intel sharing, and some F-16's upgrades which will continue even under Democrats, even if the Dems cancel the deal then the money Pakistan will pay towards the F-16's upgrade will go towards buying more J-10CE's, Pakistan already fighting a insurgency in its border so even if a reincarnation of Obama comes to Power and ask us to do more, it won't matter much. Americans are now not in Afghanistan, in fact now Pakistan have plenty of prove that TTP/BLA/AT are all using weapons left by America for this very purpose. Indians will try to gain sympathy by saying Pakistan is sponsoring Terrorism inside India but now its not just Kashmir, Manipur also have some problem, Muslims in India having a time of their life getting lynched, or beaten up to say Jai shiri raam.

Republicans have been little bit better for Pakistan but although Trump praise Pakistan, and JD visit Pakistan it was for their own benefit, Pakistan is still under US ban for immigrant visa, no aid is released, no new F-16's are on the table, no talk about releasing the AH-Z1 helicopters, or allowing PA to buyT-129 from Turkiye, there is no military leverage that US can use against Pakistan, if push comes to shove the Pakistan will buy more weapons from China. Indians will resume their R@ndi rona, but with the modi in power there isn't much they can do, their capital is a r@pe capital, they beat the heck out of their own protestors, Pakistan... everyone in the world knows by now that it will always be a hybrid Govt system with civilians and Military holding the power with 70-30%. Obama Administration tried to put pressure on Pakistan military establishment but that pressure was absorbed, Pakistan issues are internal but something will remain unchanged no matter who is in power in DC, Indians will still do their R@ndi rona, and Afghan's will still be fighting us and America will still do virtue signaling, but if America truly lost to Iran then i don't think US will get involved in this region for foreseeable future.

Sadly, our Indian (and certain Pakistani) friends actually thought that us **** types (yes, am perfectly fine with this label) are somehow "unprepared for" or "dreading" a Dem government.

Imranism has turned their brains into khichree.
