Pakistan's leaders dread US Democrats win but its households are praying for it

And it is a common curse in many Pakistani PDF members who think past failures are absolutely going to be repeated in future. Their political biases have blinded them. You can see their posts in every thread.
It's as if certain folk WANT failure for Pakistan. Understandable if they were Indian or Afghan, but they are not!

Money flows through Congress. Congress can shut down weapon sale.
Possibly. Though no one in Congress opposed FMS to Pakistan to upgrade its PAF F-16s. But if the US were paying for the upgrade, Congress would oppose it. In January, Congress will take a closer look at the cryptocurrency deal, the mining deal, and assorted deals that look shady on the surface.

There is not much support for anti-democratic forces in Pakistan among either the American people or the American deep state except for a few personal beneficiaries in Trump's orbit. So, there is no political capital that will be spent in passing a Bill that enjoys wide bipartisan support.

Also, you seem to be woefully ignorant of the law. The founding fathers intended Congress to be the primary branch of the government. That is why Congress' powers are listed in Article I and the President's in Article II. Once a Bill becomes an Act, it is the law of the land that the President is bound by. His consent only matters before the Bill become an Act. He has a veto power, but Congress can override it with a two-thirds majority, which a legislation with bipartisan support can easily garner.

After that, trying to undermine the will of Congress is the definition of "high crimes and misdemeanors ".
You must not have read or understood the history of the US-Pakistan relationship. Supporting democratic positions wasn't one of them, especially during the Cold War.

Do you seriously think listing the Congress first meant they thought it was the most important branch? Are you a serious person? All three branches are important and help balance the government's powers.

You talk like Congress can do whatever it wants, which kind of undermines all your palaver about the Constitution. You seem to be trying really hard to get Imran Khan released that you are making up unrealstic scenarios how he can be released.

It's not just IK, he wants separatists and terrorists to be legitimized in the name of democracy.

Because the most affected country by terrorism on earth can't have enough democracy and freedom, they must let mass murdering narco terrorists call the shots.

No, I am engineer. And, I know how to read.
I hope you can also understand what you read and now realize that, contrary to what you had stated, a Bill becomes an Act only after it has passed through all the hoops in the legislative process, including, but not limited to, Presidential assent or veto override.

Our boys will work with ANYBODY - as long as they pay in greenbacks - its all good.
Haha! Good one!

But I do not think Pakistan or Pakistani leaders will dread the democrats winning in USA elections.

I am beginning to understand why people ridicule you.

I have no idea why i get banned or unbanned here, but if you have a problem , take it up with the boys at Aabpara.

I would personally prefer to stay banned. Most of the quality posters have either left on their own or been banned and we are left with low IQ trolls and ignorami who spew out drivel.

Actually on another thread there seemed to be a universal agreement that quality of the forum goes up when you and some Indian multi ID rates get banned. If you hate it so much on here you can do us and yourself a favour by no longer posting, but the attention seeking inner Afghan in you, like all your retched countrymen, will not stop

Agreed.

As you are saying, countries adapt to change. And Pakistan's Foreign Office is one of the brightest spots in Pakistan. I don't fear the new Democratic setup. But as Pakistanis, we should support Senator Chris Van Hoelen to be the next POTUS; I am hearing he might be contemplating to run for the office in 2028. He took a clear stand against India over Kashmir during the 2019 conflict and also takes a clear stand against Israel.

To be perfectly honest, I do not see Pakistan has many past failures, domestically, regional or internationally.

It has had and still has shortcomings but that's different from failure. There is also this idea that everything you do has to be met with success, it's utterly ridiculous.

You create policies and act according to various conditions.
Primarily,
The strategic space as defined by your existence (this includes many factors, in fear of diverting I will not delve deeper).
Secondary,
your own ability and capabilities to force or create an outcome (which again isn't so clear cut, sometimes you have to act even if you know you cannot influence an outcome but action is required because inaction would be a worse outcome)

The problem with Pakistanis, not just on PDF, Pakistanis at large from the average Joe to the PHD holding so-called expert is that they are or simply have become incapable of thinking, incapable of independence of thought, incapable of engaging in a discussion for sake of reaching clarity.

On PDF, I am pleasantly surprised, in real life I hate Pakistanis, I just do not get along with my own. But, here I have come across many who at least for me have been a saving grace, either I have enjoyed their intellectual vigour or the raw passion for our nation. Intellect you can develop, passion is hard to recreate, it's the self respecting passionate ones who I prefer. There are many here I have argued with and I am 100% certain they think I don't like them but in fact I have deep respect for them and in some cases deep fondness.

We have become a nation of idiots. That is my firm conclusion, in my middle age.

Looks like Dawn.com saw my message from yesterday ;)

US Democrat Senator Christopher Van Hollen, who has set his sights on the 2028 contest for the American presidential office, was born in Karachi.

According to his biography on Maryland Manual Online — a website run by the Maryland state government — he was born in the port city in 1959.

Van Hollen himself spoke of his “special connection” with Pakistan in a clip released on the country’s Independence Day last year.

“I am proud to join you in celebrating Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day. I am fortunate to have a special connection with Pakistan, having been born in Karachi as the son of an American foreign service officer.

“Throughout my life, I have experienced first-hand the generosity, the goodness and the determination of the Pakistani people. I am proud to celebrate the strong people-to-people ties between our two countries […] I look forward to further strengthening the ties of friendship between the Americans and the Pakistani people,” he said in a short message.
