this stunted nation, by their brain will never understand what they have been through for 70 years.
this is a country for the elite, regardless of who they are, who they belong to. when it comes to interests, there is no nation, no identity, no dignity.
every maneuver they make is to facilitate themselves. they keep people busy with slogans of a sense of honor, self-respect, dignity, or zeal. just absolute rubbish, just fodder that is fed to the people to keep them blind and busy.
tragedy is, the so-called educated class, who need to stand up and make a difference, is dumb and a jackass. most of them are found defending the actions taken by those in power or working at their behest.
people were never given the right to elect their government and let it run. and then paid intellectuals defend every decision that went against democratic values.
we are morally corrupt; clearly, we can see examples here on this forum.
Sometimes, when I try to explain what life feels like for ordinary people in Pakistan today, two metaphors come to mind, the old plantation system and The Matrix. And strangely, when you put them together, the picture becomes clearer.
In the plantation world, there was a master...someone who owned the land, controlled the rules, and decided who lived comfortably and who suffered. The workers weren’t free; their lives were shaped by someone else’s decisions. In many stories, the master was a vampire, feeding off the labor and pain of the people beneath him. Today, that role is played by a small elite class. They don’t need fangs; the system itself drains people for them.
But the Matrix metaphor explains the part we don’t see.
In
The Matrix, people live inside an illusion. They wake up, go to work, raise families, and believe they’re making their own choices but behind the scenes, a machine controls everything. (Elections, politician, economy, Petroleum levies, etc) It keeps them distracted, comfortable enough to stay quiet, and unaware of the deeper reality shaping their lives.
That’s what Pakistan feels like sometimes.
Most people are stuck in a system built from
inflation, debt, unemployment, media noise, political drama, and geopolitical pressure. They’re overwhelmed by survival, disconnected from the truth, and kept inside a version of reality that hides who actually benefits from their struggle.
The elite become the plantation masters. The public becomes the workers trapped in a system they didn’t choose. And The Matrix becomes the illusion that keeps everyone from seeing how deeply the system is rigged.
It’s not that people are weak. It’s that the environment around them is designed to keep them asleep, plugged into a machine that shows them a world where everything seems normal

And once you unplug, once you see the system for what it is, everything changes. You start noticing who holds the power, who writes the rules, who profits from the chaos, and who pays the price. You start realizing that the “normal” everyone accepts is actually a carefully engineered illusion that protects the powerful and drains the powerless.
That’s why these metaphors matter. Together, they describe a feeling that’s hard to put into words, the sense that a nation’s lifeblood is being drained while its people are kept inside a dream that hides the truth.
