The third hijacker, sitting on a chair near the hostages, was alerted by the sound of the explosion. He tried to take position and fired a single shot but moments later he also fell prey to 9mm bullets fired by commando from assault team B that pierced his skull.
By that time, SSG and IB officers disguised as waiters had gathered all necessary info, regarding number of Hijackers, their positioning, weapons, and layout of building. Hostages were kept in the TV lounge, with 1 hijacker at a time and other 2 resting in room attached.
15 Boys in their mid/late and a school teacher remained in the custody of the hijackers. They were taken to Afghanistan embassy where the second round of negotiations started.
