ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif launched on Thursday a state-run health insurance programme and described it as the first step towards making Pakistan a welfare state.

Initially, the initiative has been launched for the benefit of people of Islamabad, but later on it will be expanded to all parts of Punjab, Balochistan and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), according to officials. People of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will not benefit from the initiative because their governments have declined to become part of the federal government programme.

i was in Pakistan around that time, i have never heard from a single person who got treated for free before 2021. There are lots of ill people in my area, i don't know if its because of the water contamination or qismat.

edit: i did some research, Sehat Card was launched in KPK in 2015 for the first time, you made fake claim that IK government renamed Nawaz sharif's program to take credit.

It's a tradeoff, the treatment in Pakistan is cheaper but there are no patient rights or standards. If the doctor sahab gives you wrong medicine or surgeon leaves scissors in your stomach and you die, too bad.

you are right, because private hospitals are for the rich/corrupt elite class that can afford the treatment...not for the peasants that don't have the right to exist.

Punjab: 61% → 66%

Sindh: 55% → 57%

KPK: 48% → 51%

Why provinces of Oxford educated leaders showing such low progress? This is literally teaching people how to read and write, the absolute basics, not teaching rocket science.

what are they gonna get in KPK when a bigger and richer province like Punjab can't provide the facilities? lots of people go to India for treatment, are you going to label them as traitors now?

They might, so many hospitals and medical facilities have been built in Peshawar in last 15 years. People from all over province and Afghanistan come for medical treatment. Once word gets out people from other parts of Pakistan will come too.
