He's actually doing a good job. I like his approach. He follows through the tough decisions. The ones down the chain are listening (they don't have a choice) and his communication is direct. And always well presented.

China’s pushing hard for Pakistan to implement deep structural reforms and it’s not just about fixing the economy. One major proposal is to carve out a new coastal province that includes Gwadar and parts of Balochistan, aimed at securing long term stability around CPEC and streamlining governance in high stakes regions.
At the same time, the Pakistani military is floating a much bigger idea: restructuring the country into 12 provinces, breaking up oversized units to improve representation, resource allocation, and administrative efficiency. Alongside that, there’s renewed talk of reviving the local government system giving real power to grassroots institutions that have long been sidelined.
But here’s the catch: this kind of overhaul will trigger serious friction between the military, civilian governments, and political parties. Many politicians see provincial boundaries as power bases, and any attempt to redraw them threatens entrenched interests. The army’s push for reform especially if it bypasses democratic consensus could deepen mistrust and spark backlash from parties already wary of military overreach.
So while the reforms might make sense on paper, the political cost could be massive. This isn’t just a governance debate, it’s a battle over control, legitimacy, and the future shape of the federation.
