Poland's Constitutional Tribunal crisis turns violent over judicial appointment deadlock:

- Police enter tribunal following outside clashes
- President Nawrocki aborts his flight to Senegal mid-journey and returns home
- PM Tusk says restoring rule of law is duty and "painful" that requires decisive action

Some commentators call it a coup d'état.

Relax. That’s not a hostile takeover. Tusk leads the majority, the executive, the legislative, the army, the police. He has the power. That’s a crisis of constitutional court, a conflict between the president and government.

Tusk is not attempting any "coup".

What happened is that the President of the Constitutional Court was suspended for refusing to nominate a Constitutional Court judge selected by the Polish parliament (in which Tusk's party forms the core of the ruling coalition).

The people in Poland who are calling it a coup are PiS and Confederation, PiS is Poland's BJP or AKP, Confederation is Poland's MAGA.
