POST WAR assessment of recent conflict.

So part of the additional analysis I think is required - is to look at what was actually deployed on BOTH sides.

We'll start with an assessment of AD capabilties at Airbases
Starting with Indian ones likely most active.

What I have is old baseline - this is likely updated - Let get members thoughts based on what was heard and known ORBAT what could be deployed. We can build the Indian ADGE picture and then move to Pakistan.

Provide your input by saying e.g
Adampur - expected AD = QRSAM x 1 (can even tell where it could be)
AAA x 4 Bofors 70mm
etc etc

Srinagar, Pathankot, Bhatinda, New Delhi, Phalodi, Jaisalmer, Uttarlai, Bhuj, Naliya and Jamnagar all have MR-SAM. Phalodi and Jamnagar also have Akash.

Drones are cheap. Dime a dozen. You don't want to use expensive missiles to shoot them down. A combination of electronic jamming and AAA can be effective. In hindsight investing in CWIS systems will make our AD more effective against such attacks.
Airbases will always suffer damage from A2G systems. Cannot be protected 100%.
Better dispersal of assets is required.
Underground bunkers etc are very expensive.
Investing in FOBS in KPK and Baluchistan for aircraft dispersal should be considered. Many derelict WWII Airbases are available for upgrades.
All of this requires money which is hard to come by.

I think you giving PAF too much credit.
What did IAF aim for and didn't achieve?
And PAF mission objectives what they achieve?

At least be decent enough to your deceased pilots and grant them martyrdom at the hands of a worthy adversary.

Your rank hatered of Muslims, that ruled over you for hundreds of years, is causing you to disrespect your very own.

Seems one of the adjacent buildings at Nur Khan near the impact area was demolished, I assume structural damage due to fire or the impact/explosives left it too weak.

Did a piece with the Think Tank I am working (for another month or so) and I am surprised no one here talk about how to deconflict and rebalance the strategic implication of this strike here, which IMO is more important than who use what where.

We can talk about how PAF J-10 shoot down a Rafale all day but if we don't talk about how India effectively breaking away from the status quo and attack Pakistani military structure "unprovoked" (As in not being attacked locally). That is a bigger issue because if you can't find a way to rebalance the status quo, that give India the mindset that it's okay to attack your military. Losing that balance is a lot worse, because India may lose a Rafale or 2, but if they think they can attack you with impunity, they will do it the next time even if that mean they will lose 1, 2, 4 or 40 Rafale.

The German media landscape is pretty much saying that this was a decisive victory for Pakistan. Literally every single media outlet. They, ofc, point out the Chinese hardware constantly. Some analysts are scared that Made in China has at least reached Western quality if not even surpassed European systems like Rafael.

Pakistan in retaliation hit 26 Indian military installations.

Here is Indian army spokesperson admitting.

They have not even admitted any loss of aircraft yet despite videos of wreckage. But here they admit Fatah missiles were able to hit 26 sites.

The reason for this was a direct clash amid tensions between India and Pakistan, which source their military equipment from France and China, among others. In the air battle, the French models of the Indian Air Force were clearly inferior to the Chinese Chengdu J-10C jets of the Pakistani armed forces.

As "Wiwo" reports, the Pakistani air force shot down three of the Indian Rafale jets during the clash, while its own Chinese jets remained undamaged. A military exercise from last year also unfolded similarly: At that time, Pakistan, which, according to the "Financial Times," purchases about 80 percent of its military equipment from Chinese companies, fought with J-10C jets against Qatari Eurofighters.

Interesting!

The one worrying thing for Pak is India now knows Pak will retaliate in a big way. That means when they decide to do something stupid again they will be more prepared and might put in place traps to hurt Pak forces.

India wants to control the escalation ladder, what Pak needs to do is make the retaliation so costly for India so it makes them think 10 times before trying to do something crazy again.

Doesn't admit about S400 but what else was damaged in Adampur? lol

Aircraft hangers, parked awacs, tankers, runways.. radars, aircraft on the ground.. lots of targets… damage will not be known unless Pak has evidence and releases it when the situation has calmed down…
