Dear all,

I have seen threads coming up about air defence etc. What we need is a dedicated thread. Topics I think need to be touched on are stocks of standoff missiles, air defence, the hurrying of Pakistani navy surface vessels etc.
I'll merge another thread later on regarding air defence.

Apologies no Indian posters please.

First question I want to start with why did we not see stocks of cruise missiles used?

I think Pakistan didn't want to escalate shit. Same reason why you guys didn't shoot every drone with SAMs. You don't want to get destroyed by HAROPs, you most likely used AAA.

You have the cruise missiles, Brahmos is just another missile and you have the same capability.

Binkov did a great video a day or so ago listing all the stand off weapons of both sides based on SIPRI data.

I understand but the thing they had escalated it by using their primary standoff weapon.

Honestly everything did well. Except for one.

Air Defence failed overall. I get that our air bases are closer to the border overall but life is not fair and preparations have to be made accordingly.

Either increase the number and variety of air defence units, or start building underground/mountain air bases, or do both. Sargodha at least should not have taken any hits.

In Bholari why weren't all personnel in trenches/bunkers when they knew other bases have been struck?

We also need something better than the CM-400 for our JF-17s. Longer range and faster flying.

All good points and I think underground is the way to go, with AD assets multiplied many fold.

Maybe assesment by PAF planers were that enemy AD is not saturated enough and they stayed with cheaper drone options?
If i was in war room i would fire almost all of them as this kind of cruise missiles are obsolete against modern AD and work on stand off hypersonic solutions, that would elevate significantly PAF ability to inflict substantial damage to the strategic targets with tactical means.

The subsonic cruise missiles could have been used to saturate defenses. You follow them after a wave of drones.
I think the Indians were given way too much breathing space here.
