President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday reached Chengdu on a 10-day visit to China. The invitation was extended by the Chinese government, Radio Pakistan reported.

On arrival at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, the president was warmly received by Vice Foreign Minister, Sun Weidong, and Vice Governor of Sichuan province, Huang Ruixue. Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong were also present to welcome the president.

Besides Chengdu, the president will also visit Shanghai and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region during his stay in China from September 12 to 21 and hold meetings with the provincial leadership, the president's spokesman said in a statement.

I may be naive, but it is China that needs to introduce some morality into its dealings with the world. To say they will do business with whoever is sitting on the throne invites all kinds of criminals to seize power. They know that China will be their buddy.

When you do large business deals then it is a good idea to do a background check on your partners. Zardari happens to have a 50 year history of criminal activity that is available publicly.

Because China ignores the people of Pakistan and chooses to deal with military dictators it encourages them to overthrow legitimate governments. The criminals can always count on Chinese friendship. This policy can backfire in the long run.

Let me remind you. Regardless of what he has done or whether he is hated by the people, he is the legitimate head of state of Pakistan.

When he stands on foreign soil, he represents the dignity of hundreds of millions of Pakistani people. In such diplomatic settings, any humiliation against him is tantamount to humiliating the entire Pakistani people.

China needs to have normal channels for communication with the Pakistani government. China considers whether to invite a foreign official based solely on the political and economic needs of both countries, rather than investigating their moral character or public support.

Please remember that China's diplomatic principle is "non-interference in internal affairs." In our view, non-interference is the greatest respect for the rights and dignity of the Pakistani people.

Chinese leadership knows Zardari very well and is not fond of him ..... No country in the world gives a fk about him , he probably coaxed an invitation from the Chinese government .....I am pretty sure President XI won't meet him.....his visit has no political or economic significance.
