We are a nation of corrupt people, with no culture, values, morals, ethics. The Pakistanis in the western world when in power are the biggest sellouts, people sell themselves for power and influence. I agree with the military success but what people are not happy about is how army is toppling goverments, destroying institutes, video recordings, fake cases etc. Our army was the people army and look at it now, this is not any achievement. The civilian leadership is worse without a doubt, what have they ever managed? Dirty politics, the lies, false statements. corruption, bribery, tax evasion, the list goes on but still army must respect institutes and governments, they cannot be allowed to break law and get away with it whilst the common man has to pay for his mistakes. The civilian setup needs time to become strong but after so much time the army involves itself. It looks like its by design to keep them weaker. Another issue is why Pakistan failed to produce any decent leadership, looking at Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia and Iran, they have 100s of young and new leadership ready to take charge but we have the same old Nawaz and Zardaris, the youth want a change, it looks like overall as a nation we haven't developed.

ISI is military intel agency combined with civil setup. Any action/step by ISI will involve DG who is military top man.

My concern is that if IB is made stronger than ISI, would things go towards betterment of Pakistan ? The reason for making IB stronger is letting the civilian have control everything in Pakistan. Lets see how that goes.

Let me give you a scenario, do your best to do what you do best and since you are Bengali origin so I will keep it close to your 1971 fetish.

Police asks for military assistance in a round up on search mission for a rebel leader. Military sends a section level outfit commanded by a LT. Some 15 troops - 11 in truck, 4 in a jeep. They wear normal gear, not riot control with helmets n all.

The police is already in the area, and the military joins in as the jeep and truck stop, dismounting soldiers.

Now lets start with scenario for the X post on media .

The LT tells the NCO to order troops to form a defensive ring, not fire at civilians but keep them away and dont allow them to come forward. Then LT runs into the building following police action as he has to make an official report eventually as administrative task.

The people see military defending policemen on the street.

This reminds me of the Syrian war and the propaganda used by the Ikhwanis, Salafis and HTs to destroy the country. Arab spring protests start, Ikhwanis are protesting to topple Assad government for Khilafah, the protest turn violent and syrian soldiers as claimed killed people, and news comes out "Bashar the butcher killed 23 civilians" then slowly "Bashar claims to be Allah" " Bashar wants people to worship him" Bashar is sufiani" and after so long weapons come in to Syria, rebel groups are formed, many Syrian army personal change sides and suddenly civil war starts, the war killed 1m+ people, millions left Syria and became refugees. Outcome Syria is destroyed but where is the Khilafat? Who funded and trained the rebels, who gave weapons, bullets? Noone will ever talk about it.

Libya was similar situation, but Gaddafi successful defeated the rebels until Nato used their airforce to destroy Gadaffi army and the rebels did the rest. Again where is Khilafat? Why did the mujahdeen receive nato help? Who gave weapons? Bullets?

These days none of these Islamist groups talk about Libya or Syria.

I have met syrian Muslims who are Happy to burn the whole country down to ge their revenge...you can find them everywhere..their grand father were killed by assad father and now their uncles and fathers by assad

I wrote this since I have seen this happen in Pakistan every time some news comes out. When the reality comes out, its no way near the X tweets.

So that is my point- why Army.

At least Army is keeping tabs on the country which civil will never be able to. But give civil a chance since there is a plethora of complains against Army.

In reality, civil and army will always go hand to hand to some extent in managing the country.
