I don't know why Pakistanis find all this surprising. The entire world knew and kept saying that Pakistani Army has absolute power and run the country as 'Rulers' behind a thin facade. Back then Pakistanis thumbed their nose at such comments and responded along the lines that 'you have no idea how awesome our Army is, you're just jealous'.

And now, it's as if Pakistanis are suddenly surprised that what the rest of the world has been saying for decades now is true.

And then there's you Indians, on the other hand, like a village aunt peeking through the cracked door every chance you get. Can you at least let us Pakistani discuss among ourselves?

This is what happens when you keeping sweeping the past under the carpet and don’t hold anyone accountable. You end up with a pure piece of trash general who will break every norm to keep himself in power.

I read few posts where people still try to blame khan - mandate was stolen from the people. How the f people try to blame khan is mind boggling. How about we hold those accountable who are behind this mess, Khan is refusing to sit with the corrupt and rightly so.

What will this accomplish? Silencing some prominent people for a while via arresting their family members? It only makes the situation worse, because without any other change in the political-economy, people are just left with harmless venting for which they are being singled out.

The unprecedented moves shock the national psyche over and over again. Many older Pakistanis will see today’s Pakistan like East Germany in the 80s; can’t deliver economically so doubles down over and over again on these methods. Reminders me of the film Goodbye Lenin, as to how much could change once this period passes and the people demand a complete change of the society.

Total banana republic. COAS, the retired General asim has some serious mental issues. He has damaged the army more than anything. Because of Asim's actions the hatred against army has gone many folds. Army must realize this and correct its course.

At this point, based on the three points you've listed, all parties need to step back, cool down, and evaluate their situation because the word on the street I'm hearing is "emergency" in some quarters. The divisions you stated is practically what's tearing this country apart, selfish people.

Really? Truly these FA pass duffers refuse to learn from history. They still live in their own fantasy and are playing political games in 2024 while their brain is stuck in 60s.

They don’t have the balls to implement emergency. Their power is in the shadows and as more and more veils are being lifted they are panicking. What do they resort to? The bogeyman (emergency) will be implemented.

The moment Asim Muni imposes emergency, he comes out in the open. Khan will play the card of united Pakistani against generals and shit will hit the fan.

People keep underestimating what’s brewing in KP and rest of the Pakistan. Just like generals did before Feb 8 elections. Ground realities are very different, the anger and frustration is real and it needs a spark or a call.

Reformed yes, abolish no. You start by attacking everything that is abused by the generals. Take away ISI away from generals, go after corrupt judges, pass laws and implement them. Go after corrupt bureaucrats who violate their oath.

Once the people who generals rely on to do their dirty work are handled, you go after the generals.

Stop defaming our army folks. You wanna do hajj go do it. You wanna go do ziarat, fine! Don’t drag our gubment in this. Pakistan gubment can’t be seen as religious theology nor secular. Our poor army looking at survival here in these tough environments. Our army has to look out for itself or else the country’s goin be dismantled in short order.
