First, I was sceptical of the 27th date. Now, it coincides with the promotion month for Lt. Generals. What do you think? Why was such a late date given, besides logistical preparations?

Impossible to say. Nothing is black and white. Till this day there are people in Army who really like Imran Khan and there are plenty of people in PTI that want to sit down with establishment.

PTI is still in charge of KPK. Sohail Afridi is also a CM. He can't go 100% on long marches/protests against center and then sit down with them the next day and ask for funds.

It would really depend on how genuine the people running PTI right now are. Are they totally in cahoots with establishment? Are they trying to find some sort of middle ground where they campaign for IK release but also work together with establishment on provincial/natsec matters?
