Punjab, 14 terrorists of TTP arrested. BLA commander arrested from Bahawalpur.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested 14 terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) while conducting operations in various cities of Punjab.

The Counter-Terrorism Department conducted 244 intelligence-based operations.

6 terrorists were arrested from Lahore and Rawalpindi, 2 from Bahawalpur, 3 from Gujranwala while one each from Bahawalnagar, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura and Sargodha.

Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) Chief Commander Arshad was also arrested from Bahawalpur and explosive materials, 1 hand grenade, 2 ED bombs, 28 detonators, arms and cash were recovered from his possession.

Arrested terrorists were planning attacks on law enforcement agencies, 4,164 suspects were arrested during 1,289 combing operations this week.

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has arrested 22 terrorists in intelligence based operations across the province.

The IBOs were conducted in Lahore, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, Bahawalnagar, Rawalpindi, Chiniot, Pakpattan, Khanewal, Chakwal, Attock and Sargodha.

Two financiers linked to Al-Qaeda were arrested from Lahore while one wanted terrorist who was arrested from Bahawalpur got training in Afghanistan was linked to TTP.

Explosives, 27 detonators, safety fuses, 60 feet wire, arms, bullets, three IEDs and cash were seized from the arrested terrorists.

Terrorists were identified as Shahzad, Mudassar, Fazl Maula, Azam, Rehman, Shafiq, Zeeshan.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a major operation, resulting in the elimination of two Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) 𝐭ē𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫ï𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐡𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡.

These terrorists were involved in an attack on the Dolphin Force, where a police Jawan was martyred.

3 terrorists killed in Nankana Sahib shootout: Punjab CTD​

Three terrorists were killed and two escaped during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Nankana Sahib, CTD spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The terrorists had opened fire on the CTD team, the spokesman said, adding: “In the exchange of fire, three terrorists were killed by the firing of their [own] comrades, while two [others] escaped.”

The CTD said it recovered three grenades, three detonators, safety fuse wire, two rifles, bullets and explosives from the terrorists.

“A search operation to arrest the escaped terrorists is underway,” said the spokesperson, adding that CTD teams had set up a picket near Motorway Nankana Interchange A and the process of identifying the slain terrorists was underway.

The spokesperson said that the terrorists were planning to launch a major attack on Lahore.

Pakistan has experienced an increase in terrorist attacks as a total of 59 such incidents occurred countrywide in August compared to 38 attacks in the previous month, according to a digital database maintained by the Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS), an Islamabad-based think-tank.

Last week, CTD Punjab arrested nine terrorists following 71 IBOs across the province.

Meanwhile, two terrorists were killed on Friday during an operation carried out in Dera Ghazi Khan.
