Clergy will waste the sacrifices of all these brave warriors if they fail to save Iran from its enemies. They should arm Iran to the teeth and work on welfare of Iranians and Iranians only.

I think you're discounting the role of faith in the readiness of these bravest of men to commit to the ultimate sacrifice. IMHO their wish for martyrdom is based in Deen and not Dunya. I love Iran with all my heart and would willingly sacrifice my life to defend it. I do so because of Deen and not because of Iran per se. I have met so many Iranians who love Iran but wouldn't die for her because they hate Islam and believe in western secularism. To each his own.
