Why on earth we will fly it over Indian airspace ? Its meant to release stand off weapon from safe distance. Secondly, its another important role is over Afghanistan and Pak-AFG border.

Saudis flew it over Houthis maybe not realizing that houthis had capability to hit a slow moving aircraft. Houthis can't do it against fighter jet.

BTW, I agree that Pakistan shouldn't have bought Akini when it was already building Shahpur III. There's no excuse to spend money on UCAVs for foreign vendors. This sector must be completely in-house (Which it is largely though except few examples from Turkey and China).

That 300 Km is never a proven engagement range. Its a marketing spec. Even theoretically its only for a large aircraft like a large cargo plane OR air refueling tanker. Also 300 km marketing range is a shortest path between two points. If you factor in altitude and factor in target moving away, then a long distance attempt is easier to evade.

Secondly, even if theoretically S400 wants to cover whole of Pakistan with it then its put the S400 batteries right in the range of our every weapon too. Even our artillery will be able to hit that site. So they have to keep it safe too and will keep it well inside their territory compromising its range cover over Pakistan.

BTW, in any major war, both sides will be doing SEAD / DEAD missions. We'll go after S400 batteries and they will go against our HQ-xx. So it don't mean if both sides has air defense then you don't procure the UCAVs.

Yes UCAVs are shot down in middle-east but so many times they successfully do the strike missions. So attrition is justified and its much more cost effective then using a ranged weapons like US tomahawks or Iranian Ballistic missiles.
