(QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Tim Curry, the beloved actor best known for playing the unforgettable Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, has died at 80, according to TMZ.
Sources told TMZ that Curry died late Tuesday night at his Los Angeles home after dealing with serious health issues for more than a decade. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that police responded to his home around 11:23 p.m. Tuesday. No foul play is suspected.

TMZ reported Curry began his acting career in the late 1960s and landed his breakthrough role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Although critics initially overlooked the movie, it eventually became a massive cult phenomenon, particularly through midnight screenings.
Curry also became known for playing the terrifying Pennywise in the 1990 TV adaptation of Stephen King's It.
Movie fans may also remember him from Clue, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Annie, The Hunt for Red October, Muppet Treasure Island, Addams Family Reunion, and Scary Movie 2.
