This information is based on the data of JSC "PPK"*, but using the agency's own segmentation. If in compare with March 2024, the truck market volume decreased by 2.8%, then in relation to the level of a year ago (April 2023) - by 6%.
After four months, the leadership in this segment of the market returned to the domestic brand KAMAZ, which in April accounted for 19% of the total volume, which corresponds to 2,118 sold vehicles. The second place is occupied by Chinese SITRAK (1391 vehicles). Also, in the top 5 most popular brands in the market of new trucks there were three more "Chinese" - Shacman (1,333 vehicles), FAW (1,184 vehicles) and Dongfeng (782 vehicles). However, the leader among the models remains SITRAK C7H, the share of which in April was 12.5% of the total number of trucks sold.
If we look at the results of 4 months, during this period the sales of new trucks in Russia totaled 40307 vehicles. This is 4.5% more than in January - April 2023.

The converted vehicles are already available for customers' orders, reports the press service of MB Rus. GVW of the cargo-passenger van Toano is 3.5 tonnes (category N1). Under its bonnet is installed 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine ISF Cummins CRDi with an output of 149.5 hp, which works in combination with a manual 6-speed gearbox Getrag MT82. Cargo-passenger Toano is equipped with a sliding partition on mounting rails and provides carriage of 5 passengers (excluding the driver).
The ceiling, beltline and door cards, as well as the upper part of the side panels were finished with composite panels and fabric. The price of the converted Foton Toano van in the cargo-passenger version is from 4 million 664 thousand 400 rubles. The converted version of the Foton Tunland G7 pickup truck received additional equipment that allows to use the vehicle as a mobile workshop or "light technician". The pickup is equipped with a 2-litre diesel engine with an output of 163 hp, which works in combination with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
The set of additional equipment includes a body-coloured kung with a lifting rear door and lock, a retractable platform for easy loading and unloading of heavy and oversized cargo, corrugated aluminum trim with flanging around the perimeter, slots for fixing straps fixing the cargo, rigging loops in the body of the platform. The special version of the pickup is equipped with a towbar, additional protection for the engine, gearbox and fuel tank. In June 2023, MB Rus, a member of the Avtodom Group, signed an agreement with Chinese manufacturer Foton, becoming another distributor of brand in the Russian market and obtaining the rights to officially import Toano model to Russia.
In March 2024, MB Rus started sales of Foton Tunland G7 mid-size pickup truck. The retrofitting of vehicles in cooperation with local bodybuilders allows the company to offer customers various solutions tailored to their individual business needs.

The leadership in the model rating is retained by bus PAZ 3204, April sales volume of which amounted to 530 vehicles.
The top three were PAZ 3205 and LIAZ 5292 (294 and 291 vehicles, respectively). Sales of other models totaled less than 200 vehicles. If we consider the results of the first 4 months of this year, during this period sales of new buses in Russia totaled 7,267 vehicles - 33% more than in January-April 2023.

Thus, in the second spring month the volume of import of new passenger cars in the Russian Federation amounted to 57.8 thousand vehicles - by 34% less than in March. This is the minimum indicator not only this year, but also for the last 10 months.
Before that, a lower result was recorded in June 2023 (55.7 thousand vehicles). As for cars with used cars (older than 3 years), in April it was imported 31.6 thousand vehicles - by 22% less than in March. April volume is also below the level of a year ago (-9%), but at the same time this year it exceeds the figures of January and February (19.8 thousand and 23.1 thousand vehicles, respectively). Sergei Tselikov, Director of the AUTOSTAT agency, attributes the drop in imports to the change in the rules for importing cars, which came into force on April 1, 2024.
Importers tried to bring as many cars as possible in March, which led to a drop in imports in April. The expert believes that under today's import conditions, the fall in import volumes may continue. "For new passenger cars, the indicators are still above the values of last year, but in July we will go into the range of last year or even lower. In general, at the end of 2024, slightly more cars will be imported than in 2023, but insignificantly", - comments Sergey Tselikov.
It should be noted that according to the results of 4 months of the current year, 270.3 thousand new passenger cars (2.2 times more than YOY basis) and 114.9 thousand used cars (-18.6%) were imported into Russia.

The next two stages of restyling of Aurus, according to the schedule, are planned in 2026 and 2030.

The trial operation of KAMAZ electric bus with night charging has been completed in Saint Petersburg.
KAMAZ-6282 ONC electric bus was placed at the disposal of the St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise "Passagiravtotrans" at the end of February. During the month, the carrier tested the novelty on urban routes. During this time, the electric bus traveled a total of 2.5 thousand km and transported over 10.6 thousand people. The consumption calculated by St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise "Passagiravtotrans" was 2.18 kW/km. The bus received positive feedback from the operating organization.
KAMAZ-6282 ONC electric bus with night charging retains all the features of the "classic" KAMAZ-6282 model, but can be charged after hours. This type of electric buses has an increased capacity of traction batteries, which implies a large amount of mileage on a single charge. Engineering and production services of PJSC TMZ continue to work on the comprehensive modernization of the engine for Kirovets K-7 tractor, manufactured for the main consumer – Peterburgsky Traktorny Zavod JSC.
The upgraded engines use an air-to-air charge air cooler (CAC). The advantages of the upgraded air-to-air CAC engine are as follows: cooling is carried out with atmospheric air, the design and production technology are simpler, the cost is lower, and fuel consumption is lower.
Since 2023, a coolant pump with a reinforced bearing assembly has been used in tractor engine modifications. This spring, engines with cast-iron cylinder heads are going into serial production. And beginning July, a new cylinder block casting technology will be used.
In the near future, work on the modernization of tractor engines will continue: it is planned to increase the engine capacity in the range of 460-600 HP, use a new piston group, and Common Rail type fuel equipment.

Luxeed is considered the premium division of Chery. The brand’s first model was the coupe-shaped S7 sedan, built on the E0X platform with 800 volt electrical architecture. The single-wheel drive version of the electric car is equipped with a 292-horsepower electric motor, and the four-wheel drive engine of the same power on the rear axle is powered by a front-mounted 204-horsepower electric motor. In total, they develop 496 horsepower. Power reserve varies between 550 and 800 kilometers depending on the version.
There is no information whether Chery plans to sell cars under the Luxeed brand in Russia.
