Chinese automaker Geely has started sales of its new seven-seat crossover Okavango in the Russian market. This is stated in the company’s press release (available from socialbites.ca). The model will be available in Luxury and Flagship trim levels. Price – from 3.5 million rubles to 3.6 million rubles.
The length of the car is 4860 mm, its width is 1910 mm and its height is 1770 mm. The wheelbase is 2825 mm. For the Russian market, Geely Okavango is offered in four color options: classic white (enamel) and metallic blue, black and gray.
The vehicle is equipped with a 2.0 liter gasoline engine. The 200 hp Power unit is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The maximum speed of the vehicle is 200 km/h. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 7.7 liters per 100 km. The drive is front-wheel drive.
The standard equipment of the luxury car includes LED headlights and taillights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel and dual-zone climate control with separate air ducts for the first row of seats, second and third rows of seats. The Flagship package includes blind spot monitoring and door warning, electronic lane change and reversing assist, and rear collision warning. The driver’s seat is equipped with a memory function.

Deputy General Director for New Vehicle Sales of Avilon Automotive Group Aleksey Starikov told this to a socialbites.ca correspondent. Only private owners will be able to import such cars.
“Electric vehicles of brands such as Avatr and Zeekr will now be imported only by individuals and for private use only. “It is quite clear that since the import of cars with low customs value through the EEU countries must be closed, these cars will become more expensive,” said Alexey Starikov in an interview with the socialbites.ca correspondent.

The cost of Lada Granta cars with the EnjoY Pro system has not been disclosed. It is known that the new multimedia is offered only for cars with sedan and hatchback bodies.

Experts of AUTOSTAT agency announced the results of the 10th annual award "Residual value", as a result of which 3-year old models with the best residual value in Russia became known. Viktor Pushkarev, deputy head of the analytical department of AUTOSTAT agency, spoke about the truck market (MCV and HCV) in our country at the auto business forum " Russian Automobile Market. In the medium-capacity vehicle (MCV) segment, the market share of domestic* brands is 72%. Chinese manufacturers are in the second position with the result of 21%. The leaders are GAZ (6,913 vehicles), KAMAZ (5,183 vehicles) and JAC (2,430 vehicles). The situation on the market of heavy duty trucks (HCV) is the opposite. With the departure of a number of manufacturers from Russia, it was filled by Chinese brands.
Thus, they account for 66% of the market. Domestic* manufacturers account for 28% of all HCVs sold. The leaders are KAMAZ (25827 vehicles), SITRAK (23631 vehicles) and Shacman (20757 vehicles). According to the forecasts of experts of AUTOSTAT agency, the market of medium-duty trucks in 2024 will grow by 11% (up to 20 thousand vehicles) in the base forecast. Remdiesel has launched serial production of engines for KAMAZ trucks in Naberezhnye Chelny. Investments in modernization amounted to RUB 300 million, of which RUB 235 million was provided by the federal Industrial Development Fund (IDF) under the "Spare parts" program.
Previously, Remdizel only performed overhauls of internal combustion engines for trucks. After modernization and acquisition of new modern equipment, the enterprise started serial production of engines, the press service of the IDF reports. The produced engines have a double-row arrangement of eight cylinders and develop power up to 260 hp. They are equipped with turbocharging and fuel equipment from other borrowers of IDF - "Yaroslavl Diesel Equipment Plant" and "Altai Precision Products Plant".
Only Russian components are used in the production of internal combustion engines, the level of localization is 100%. Currently, the Aurus line-up is represented by Senat sedan. It is equipped with 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine capacity of 598 HP and 880 Nm of torque. An electric motor is installed with it, its peak capacity is 62 HP. The power unit is coupled with 9-speed automatic gear box.
