Frozen mean the funds is temporary on hold, Russia can get those money back if condition were met.

Confiscation means the funds is permanently taken away from Russia, there are no way for Russia to get them back

The armistice agreement needs to at least allow Ukraine to join the EU, otherwise this armistice is meaningless.

500 billion dollars of debt will make Ukraine unable to buy armaments, and US coercion will make Ukrainians stop trusting the West.

Once the Russian army attacks again, Ukraine will have neither the weapons nor the will to resist.

There were never 500 billion of debt to begin with, Trump is seeking 500 billion for compensation of the 121 billion the US sent to Ukraine, since this is not from his Administration (Even if it is, there still no legal recourse for recovery) he can't recover that legally, unless Zelenskyy agrees.

On the other hand, I seriously doubt the war will end soon, and if it does ends, it would not be under US term, what Trump did is basically lost the last chance to control Ukraine, without the mineral deal, there are nothing linking US to Ukraine, US is not prepare to send any other package to them, and the Ukrainian weren't expecting any since last year. So in what way Trump can dictate Ukrainian action if the mineral deal falls apart? Trump can talk to Putin however he wants, but if Ukraine is not selling mineral to US and US is not transferring arm to Ukraine, why Ukraine needs to listen to what US have to say regarding their war?
