Wonder what else you can get from Ukraine. The mines are in a poor state. It will need big $$$$ investment.

Not all resources are profitable to extract. If the cost of extraction is high, then it is not worth it considering the same resource could be obtained at lower cost elsewhere.

I do believe one thing, this war needs to end, in a way that allows both sides to save face. I will not dismiss the courage and bravery with how ordinary Ukrainians have defended their nation. That much is worthy of my utmost respect, for what little is is worth. They fought like lions.

So did Russians. Russians fought like lions for their honor. Against overwhelming odds, Russians have prevailed just like they did against Napoleon and Hitler. Russians have shown time and again, they are not to be bullied.

To me Russians are the aggressor. Always will be, it is interesting to observe how they have modified their tactics during this war.

Russians defended their honor. When Ukrainians bullied them from across the border, Ukrainians got a bloody nose and were punished by losing land. Russians have shown time and again, they are not to be bullied. Chinese people like me will always have the back of Russians. It's what neighbors do.

Europe:
The late Russian politician Zhirinovsky had predicted in 2019 the future of Europe and Ukraine:“They will negotiate about Ukraine, all of Novorossiya will be under the Russian flag like Crimea and Donbass...Trump will have normal relations with Russia and China, but he will strangle Europe because he hates it!

Sergey Lavrov exposes the stupid animosity of Europe:

"For 500 years, all the tragedies of the world stemmed from the policy of Europe, colonialism, the Crusades, Napoleon, Hitler, the two world wars.

If we look at history, America has not played an incitement role ..

as Zelinskkj recently put it, this war is far, very far from the end.

I have made some maths, at what point the russians will stop the aggression?

5 million men casualties at lower end. 10 million men at higher end

What is apparent is that unlike Ukraine, Russian has managed to tap into a large pool of warm bodies to put into fatigues and throw into the meat-grinder, in the war of attrition, Ukraine comes out the weaker party.

They have tried sanctions, they are tried up-skilling and rearming the Ukranian military which BTW currently boasts some of the most advanced weapon systems available to modern armies in the world. Ukraine has been a testing ground for new weapons systems, new modes of combat and innovations in UCAV design and implementation.

Options A,B and C have not worked, Russia for all its flaws on the battle field having dumped a monumental amount of metal and men and consigned them to the scrap heap is still able to take territory and hold it, furthermore with its relatively cheap fleet of Iranian made drones, is able to strike into Ukrainian territory.

It was proposed by an analyst working for RUSI that the present consumption rate of ammunition by Ukraine was unsustainable stripping the domestic demands of donors such as Germany, UK, France Etc, so much so that some nations dipped into their national reserve stockpile to continue the supply chain.[1]

Russia in my opinion accounted for this in their assessment[2] we have seen a shift from traditional artillery being used to more attacks from UCAVs and the such, from both sides, a testament to the evolving nature of warfare and the strains on the current supply chain.

Russia whilst having completely hollowed out its economy, has managed to weather the storm of sanctions with somewhat ease, so much so that discussions are now underway to allow Russian carriers to return to flight operations to the U.S.[3]

Therefore Trump is not wrong when he says that the only option open is the negotiation table.

Donald Trump has now banned UK from sharing any US military intelligence with Ukraine

The US has banned Britain from sharing intelligence from Washington with Ukraine, according to reports.

Donald Trump, 78, is said to have made the move as part of the US' alarming withdrawal of support for Volodymyr Zelensky. There are already concerns Ukraine could run out of weapons in as little as two to three months' time following Mr Trump's decision to freeze American military aid to Kyiv.

And now reports claim all UK intelligence agencies and military outlets have received an order expressly forbidding the sharing of US-generated intelligence, previously known as "Rel UKR" - short for Releasable to Ukraine.

It is another huge blow for Mr Zelensky, 47, as the UK and other Western security partners such as Australia and New Zealand have shared such knowledge with Ukraine since the conflict began three years ago. As Russia's onslaught continues, it is feared the ban will further hamper Ukraine's chances to defend itself.

The ban affects the likes of the UK's GCHQ, the spy agencies and intelligence branches of the Ministry of Defence. Phil Ingram, a UK military intelligence expert, told the Daily Mail: "The United States's instruction to stop allies sharing US-derived intelligence with Ukraine is what I would expect. The US's intelligence partners, including Britain, have had their authority to pass on intelligence revoked. The US will tightly control distribution of its intelligence to Ukraine through agencies based in Kyiv."

Mr Trump has today already hinted he will relinquish the US' leadership of NATO, as he continues to insist UK and France should take more responsibility for the security of the continent. It is a move his friend and adviser, Elon Musk, has reportedly recommended.
This, coupled with the temporary freeze on military aid for Ukraine, has now left the situation "very difficult" for the war-torn nation, experts say.

"We have two to three months. After that, the position will be very difficult for us. It will not be a total collapse, but we will be forced to withdraw from some areas more quickly," a senior Ukrainian official told the Financial Times on Tuesday.

Russia currently occupies around one fifth of Ukraine, including eastern provinces and the Crimean peninsula. Ukraine is clinging on to a relatively small amount of territory it seized last year in the southern Russia province of Kursk.

Should be noted that this ban only relates to intelligence produced by the United States and marked Rel-UKR (Releasable to Ukraine) it does nothing to prevent the UK or EU and their partners from sharing intelligence obtained by their own respective intelligence agencies.
