Correct. What I think Russians biggest advantage is boiled up anger. The amount of anger from 8 years of Ukrainian army shelling innocent Russian civilians is nothing to sneeze at. Russians are probably the angriest bunch on the planet at the moment. And one thing they can't wait is revenge, and lots of it. The coming years will be interesting to watch as the Donbas war unfolds.

Not only that. They saw NATO illegally topple their Allies in Iraq & Libya. They saw the attempt to overthrown their Ally in Syria. To top it up, they saw a clown fraud force on the people of Ukraine for NATO to control. This was just a step too far. The bear had been bitten enough. On global scale Russia is a small fish. That’s a fact. Today everyone talks of China, but nobody talks of Russia. USSR withdrew from Afghanistan then collapsed soon after. Russia will face the same music.

Many countries became smaller. Britain and France lost their vast empires. So did Spain and Portugal. So did Italy. Netherlands lost Indonesia. The US lost Philippines. Germany lost Prussia. Russia didn't really lose that much. Russia retained about 80% of the area of USSR more than 90% of East Slavic lands after Cold War defeat.
