It’s so bizarre seeing so many people obsessed with "how much territory" is either taken or lost. It doesn't matter that much. This is a war of attrition. It’s mostly about who can wear down the other side first. And for obvious reasons Ukraine is the one most likely to buckle first. It’s just a question of when. And that is difficult to say. This could end a month from now, or it could end a year from now. There are just too many variables at play to make concise predictions. And it could even be argued that it’s difficult to say any side is "winning". But certainly all available evidence shows that Russia has the upper hand, and that Ukraine is now most certainly on a back footing. The issue is probably just how much can Russia push its advantage? And can they weaken the Ukrainian army to the point that it collapses? And this will also depend on to what extent the West is both willing and able to still support Ukraine. Especially with 2024 an election year in the US.

Ukraine serves nothing for the US. Israel sure. But Israel is very small and not a drag on the US. Ukraine is huge. Ukraine has 30 million people. It's not easy to support.

Still pretending the Russian military hasn’t been decimated?

ACtually, you've shown me some of its units and equipment getting decimated, which i knew and suspected was also happening, sure, but overall, it doesnt seem the decimation of the Russian military is putting any visible dent on it- its actually going on the offensive now, probably a starter or light one, but still, it took Maryinka back to Ukrainians and how did Russian troops get into the town next to Chasov Yar? thats a big strategic city in Eastern Ukraine, why are Ukrainian defenses collapsing at the moment in Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Kupyansk, etc.

And absolutely no one believes the Russian military is superior to the US,

Oh alot of people believe it across the world, they've seen Russia hold off 30+ countries combined military efforts, including US, we dont see that often in the world. US is the strongest military ON PAPER, thats the McNamara fallacy- its very stroooong, ON PAPER, now i'm reading US military would run out of ammunition within 3 weeks of fighting China? OMG!!

especially after their embarrassing performance in Ukraine.

Lol, what makes their performance embarrasing exactly? i think Ukraine should be more embarrassed becauwe despite all the NATO support of money and weapons, it still couldnt take back any territory of its own from Russia this year, Ukraine is a net-territory loser this year, Russia is a net-territory gainer.

The front lines are essentially static, barely any movement. And Russia is losing hundreds of pieces of armor and tens of thousands of casualties for barely any land.
Russian ground forces are getting decimated.

And yes, the US military would annihilate the Russians, embarrassingly so. In the grand scheme the US hasn’t given Ukraine that much.

No fighters, attack helicopters, missiles outside of a couple dozen ATACMs

This has inflicted over 315K dead and wounded Russians, over 16,000 real armor and firepower losses.

All at minimal cost to the US. This is a massive strategic victory for the US
