Yes - and the same with Germany in WWII - but as my point earlier - in both occassions, Russia was offically at war and the people rallied to that cause. Right now, Russia is not officially at war.

Putin has a hard case of justifying the declaration of war - given that he launched the "special" military operation.

Russians have far more motivation in this war. They are fighting to take back Taurida and Donba areas which Russians consider historical Russian land stolen by Ukrainians.

Exactly. So German support for Ukraine will fall to 0 soon the way the US support for Ukraine had fallen to 0.
