According to our very respected members here, we were led to believe that the Russians had run out of "steam" and were about to crumble, so how exactly did the Russians manage to advance towards Kharkiv and sending the Ukrainians' towards back to the clown in Kiev?

Russian advances on the Kharkiv front are only along the border and only minor tactical advances at this point. We’ll see what happens in the coming weeks, but Russias advance has stalled the last couple days, so they’ve actually hit the Ukrainian defense lines.

Also Russias advances on the Ocheretyne and Chasiv Yar fronts have been stopped. No real movement there in days.

The russians have amassed 50,000 men, 400 tanks. That’s a lot. Ukraine hasn’t much that number of men and materials.
Ukraine defense is holding the ground as long as possible until the western military aid arrives.

But I thought Russian military hardware was junk and it was running out of men?

Ukraines main defense lines were not set at the border, but 4-5km behind it. Ukraine had some outposts at the border but that was it.

And Russia has nowhere near the manpower and equipment to take a city like Kharkiv.

The russians try to overrun Ukraine defense with mass of men and materials.
Yes of course at some point Putin will run out of zombies he can throw at. But not now. 1 or 2 year this time Russia casualties will reach 1 million men.
