It is beneficial for China to keep the conflict going because:

1. It keeps Western companies out of Russia which has a lucrative consumer products market, leaving it all to Chinese companies.

2. It makes millions of Slavic women flee Russia and Ukraine, many if not most of them end up in China to balance out the male heavy gender ratio.

3. Donba area has a lot of coal, and China buys that cheap to run China's power plants, most of which are thermal ones.

So that's why China will keep a balance of power so neither side can beat the other side and win.

if putting that sorts of trolling aside. then yes, the russians are finished. the only 2 things that keep them alive are
(1) China, India buy cheap oil and gas
(2) cheap progaganda: the west is evil. they want to destroy Russia. only Putin the messiah can save us from going to hell.

China is the double winner. she profits from cheap natural resources of Russia, and can sell even cheap stuffs to high priced to the russians. a big plus: Russia army is decimated to the bones. the russians pose no longer threat to China.

Germany meanwhile is the double loser. it loses access to cheap natural resources of Russia. because Putin is a psychopath, the germans now increases mililary spendings on the cost of social prosperity. that sucks.

About coal, that becomes less and less important in the future. the world turns to electric, solar, wind, hydrogen, renewables. I really don´t know how the russians will feed themselves in the future if less and less people buy their oil, gas or coal.
