The green bits were not under control, they were just Incursions
The Ukrainians were well on their way to collapsing, it took all of the west to try to stop the collapse and spend hundreds of billions to support Ukraine and all it did was wipe out a generation of Ukrainians
Now with even all that help and money and weapons, the Russians are still advancing
And at least a million Ukrainians lay dead
This is NECESSARY for the world, Russia is fighting for all of us to try and balance the world a d keep the western order from being a danger to humanity

The green are the areas Ukraine liberated during the Kharkiv and Kherson offensives in late 2022. And no, Ukraine is nowhere near 1M deaths. Latest estimates are 80K-100K dead. For Russia, 200K dead and 400K wounded.
Yes, “advancing” for only minimal tactical gains this year. The map doesn’t lie. All at the cost of 200K dead and wounded and thousands of pieces of equipment lost. That’s what you call a strategic defeat.
