They failed miserably, and they had to dial their goals WAY back to capturing the Donbass, which they still aren’t close to doing. Now 600,000 dead and wounded and 18,000+ equipment losses and absolutely scraping their storage depots. Ukraine will now forever be aligned with the West, and likely host NATO troops post war.

Russia has long since strategically lost this war. You will eventually come to terms with it.

Russias strategic goals was to free the Russian speaking eastern half of Ukraine

Which is almost done and could have been completed a few years ago if NATO didn't throw fuel onto the fire
