My country Uk has around 19,000 active duty infantry. 1/3 rotation. 1/3 on the front line. 1/3 in reserve and 1/3 on rest. 6,000 uk troops at best could probably guard Kiev for a week

Again, this force will be deployed POST WAR, infantry from EU country is not the main stay for the Ukrainian frontline, you don't stand EU peacekeeper shoulder to shoulder on the frontline and act as a human shield, what EU contribute in this scheme is the combine arms taskforce or Joint Strike Taskforce, IF there are a ceasefire agreement, there WILL BE NO FLY ZONE on the border in the frontline, otherwise there will not be peacekeeper in Ukraine.

The EU contribution would be the Air Arms and the Mechanised Arms of peacekeeping force, basically you will have whatever Ukraine troop in the frontline STAY in the frontline with EU battlegroup act as combine arms liaison, so when Russia decided to have another go at Ukraine, the 4 or 5 squadron or a wing (which is 100 fighter jet) or so EU Fighter Jet and 2 to 3 Armoured Brigade (2-300 tanks) will work with the Rest of the Ukrainian (Air and Ground Force) and beat back the Russian.

Ukraine is not going to pull all their troop away from the frontline and single up and stranded the EU peacekeeper in the frontline, and honestly people who think this is the case is just stupid.......sorry if I offended you but there is no other word.......
