BMP-3 is light and amphibious. M2A2 is not. Russian counterpart of M2A2 is BMPT Terminator.

M2A2 is not as good as BMPT-Terminator. Terminator is armed with 30 mm cannons and 130 mm anti tank missiles range 6 km laser beam riding. Also, Terminator has commander's independent panoramic hunter killer sight which M2A2 don't have.
