And yet they haven't been defeated yet!? Where's all your predictions about the Russians running out of armour within months?!
I never said Russia would run out of armor in months. I said their deep storage stocks of usable armor would be mostly pulled by mid 2026. That still has to go through refurbishment at BTRZs, then to the front to be destroyed.
Russian new production can’t keep pace with losses, so that means the Russian Army will become more and more demechanized which effects Russian offensive capacity and ability to prosecute the war.
We already see the effects materializing today with so many assaults on motorcycles, dune buggies, and civilian cars.
Russia still has a lot of rust buckets to burn through at the front, but their ability to replace armor losses is diminished and that’s easy to see for anyone following the war.

The first footage of a Russian kamikaze drone "Lancet-51" striking a Ukrainian checkpoint. This has not been observed before, usually "Lancet" drones only attack military equipment. The video was filmed near the village of Glybnoe in the Sumy region of Ukraine.

Even if the Russian men and material losses are only half of what Western sources report, its still a staggering loss. How is Putin still able to maintain power ? Now I have read a couple of books on Russia and I am aware of the slavish mentality of the common Russian and the concept of "service to the state", but still.....any other dictator would have faced considerable unrest by now with this scale of loss.
Russia may indeed win this Ukraine war in the end but it will be a Pyrrhic victory, like Saddam Hussein's victory in his war against Iran in 1980s.

whether its all true or half true, I am more curious on how Putin still maintains his regime. I know he is a "capo dei capi" of the KGB-mafia hybrid regime that took power after Yeltsin, but surely they must have been hollowed out by this long, expensive and horrible war and vulnerable. But we dont see any signs of that at all.

Because Putin destroyed all political opposition, and any dissenting Russians have no choice but to remain quiet. Otherwise they’re imprisoned, sent to labor camps, or killed.
Russia is only able to sustain this war because of the huge salaries and bonuses they’re paying out to recruits. It’s money the majority of them would never see in their lifetimes. The Russian economy can only sustain that for so long.
The vast majority of the Russian Army today is only in Ukraine for the money. The Army that invaded in February 2022? Mostly destroyed
