If the casualty figures are too high for Russian assault tactics like for example to gain several km2 land 100s even 1000s of soldiers-equipment are sacrificed then the orders from the upper chain of cammand are questionable.

If the casualty figures are going high like this eventually Ukraine will get the upper hand for a counter offensive to penetrate into Russian weakened defensive positions gassed out from so much losses from these assults with little gains.

Maybe this shows that some guys(or even putin himself if he give this order) are compromised helping Usa in the upper command chain resulting in too much losses in Ru assaults.

It seems better to dig in and strengthen defensive positions and increase fpv drone teams in the already controlled areas and dont lose experienced personnel for an upcoming Ukranian assult. Striking areas of Ukraine for them to not to regroup for counterattacks is another issue. However with continious Russian assults having colossal losses the upper hand will eventually come to Ukraine for a successful counter attack.

If not that is another case but the news and data shows otherwise. It may not be accurate but this should still be in the mind of operation planners whether they degrade the defenses because of losses while these assaults takes place to gain more positions.

Possibly for deterrence against taiwan-China issue as well. It doesnt mean Russia is winning either. There is not much evidence that Ukraine lost too much equipment to continue defending eastern ares. Especially their air defense is still very intact Russian Su-35s cannot enter Ukr airspace so air dominance is still not achieved after more than 3 years. Daily Russian motorcade attacks are usually damaging for Russia in the long term as they lose experienced soldiers to fpv drones and anti personnel artillery fire. This gives upper hand to Ukraine in the long run.

Gaining a few more km2 with 10000 losses is not sustainable even for Russia. The sooner the chain of command starts to question this strategy the better.
