It's no secret that the US ran out of artillery shell in 2023? . In April, the US had to get 500,000 shells from South Korea to give to Ukraine, 2 months into the spring offensive, the US had only cluster bombs to give Ukraine. When Ukraine was using 200,000 shells a month and the US can produce only 28,000 shells a month, it doesn't take a genius to figure out there was a supply problem a year ago. The EU can't produce as much as the US, that's why the US had to go to South Korea. No amount of money will help Ukraine, the West's militaries have been depleted. Maybe the West can ask pakistan or others to sell some of their military supplies to give to Ukraine, they won't give any of that away that for free, they're not stupid
Nope, the US hasn’t run out of artillery shells. The US military has its own war requirements to meet, and has to assess risk to its own readiness. The US still has millions of 155mm and 2.8M DPICMs rounds.
Current 155mm production is 30K/month. That will reach 70K/month by end of year. Then 100K/month by end of 2025 once the new plant in Texas is up and running. Thats 1.2M per year of 155 in peace time. Russia is in full WAR TIME economy and making 2M shells/year of ALL CALIBERs.
The US and Europe combined will easily exceed Russian production capacity within 2 years.
