Yanukovych was a corrupt Russian puppet, and everyone knew it. The Ukrainians want nothing to do with Russia if that hasn’t been made clear enough yet.
Now, who is talking here? The present illegal Ukrainian gov is the most corrupt country in the world today!

According to Transparency International's 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), Ukraine was ranked 105 out of 180 countries, with a score of 35 out of 100. While this ranking reflects a serious corruption problem, for context, the least corrupt country on the list was Denmark (score 90),

Again, NATO never agreed to not expanding nor was it legally recognized. Don’t care what someone promised as new leaders come and go.

Eastern Europe wants to join NATO and the West, and that’s their independent choice to make.
Independent choice - only if the choice is to join the US. Otherwise they will keep getting revolutions until a government comes that makes that choice. Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova.

You are entitled to your opinion, and I have mine.? Deal? I am old enough to witness maiden insurrection and read it blow by blow!

There's no need for censorship; you can present your argument and support it. I did back up my argument.

Now, the present Zelenzky government is illegitimate and illegal, having passed its term of office. Is this not correct? Where is the beef? Show me if they have the mandate of the people, Election anyone?

Here is another proof that they never want to implement Minsk agreement

This isn't proof of anything, just a bunch of useless claims.

Also illegitimate and illegal? Half his country is under occupation, and the other half under attack.

How the hell is he supposed to hold elections?

You and logic don't seem to go together.

And you have been old enough, but clearly didn't witness the Euromaidan.

The Minsk agreement was, is, will always be bullshit.

Russia invaded and annexed Crimea in 2014, something you Russophiles constantly ignore.

Russia started this war 11 years ago.

All three nations which witnessed Russian invasions, and annexation.

*Corruption perception*

This is actually an big issue with TI's methodology, as it doesn't address actual corruption, just what people think. A government could have 0 corruption, but if the population thinks they're corrupt,, they could still end up with 100% corruption perception.

I do not consider TI's methods legitimate.

Also, you contradicted yourself.

Ukraine ranks 105 out of 180, so its not the most corrupt country in the world.

You can't even remain consistent.

Random ass unverifiable twitter posts isn't proof.
I agree in principle with your comment. Regarding Nuland's involvement with Ukraine, there is a lot going on behind the scenes with her we will never fully know about. ISW had a hot line into her office.

Side note, I don't fully trust ISW. They've made wild claims in the past, and have proven themselves to not be that reliable.

Exactly. Then again, blood is thicker than water. Yes, I am indeed referring to family relations.

Soon Putin’s Russia war against Ukraine is longer than Stalin’s USSR (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, etc.) war against Germany in WW2. Congrats. Keep killing more while spewing more Nazi stories.

Crimea has always been a historically Russian territory and an ice-free port. It was during Khruschev's reign. It was ceded to Ukraine. He is Ukrainian, btw. At least Russia held a referendum, and the people of Crimea chose Russia over Ukraine, so it is legitimate. What happened to self-determination so celebrated in the West!

The United States held an election during World War II. So, Ukraine is withholding the election on the pretext of war, which is an excuse to hang on to dictatorship!

Yes, the United States held elections during World War II. Unlike other combatant nations, such as the United Kingdom, that postponed elections, the U.S. constitutional requirement for regular elections meant that the electoral process proceeded without disruption.
Key elections held during the war include:
  • 1940 Presidential Election: Franklin D. Roosevelt won an unprecedented third term, defeating Republican challenger Wendell Willkie. At the time, the U.S. was not officially at war but was following events in Europe and increasing military preparation.
  • 1942 Midterm Elections: Held in the middle of Roosevelt's third term, this was the first national election after the U.S. entered the war. Voter turnout was lower than in previous elections, partly due to the large number of military personnel serving overseas and the relocation of workers for war production. Republicans gained congressional seats, though Democrats retained their majority.
  • 1944 Presidential Election: Roosevelt won a fourth term in office, defeating Republican Thomas E. Dewey. This was Roosevelt's narrowest victory and his last election; he died in April 1945, just months into his term.
