What exactly is the catastrophe? Russia is still in Ukraine. Ukraine has failed to make any significant reversals of the front. The Russians continue to advance albeit slowly. Casualties are seemingly irrelevant to the Russians.
But its a catastrophic situation. Has been like that for 1000s of post. I guess by saying it again - may become a truth.

A Russian 300mm Tornado-S MLRS strikes a temporary deployment site for Ukrainian units located in an abandoned building. The video was filmed in the Kharkiv region.

Year 5 of the war:

-1.3M dead and wounded Russians
-tens of thousands of equipment losses
- economy stagnant with high inflation
- slowest pace of the war with no end in sight

Cost vs benefit, was it worth it in the end? The vast majority of the land Russia occupies today was gained in the first month of the war. So what exactly are they still fighting for? Not even the Russians could tell you. Putin has sunk so much money, manpower, time, and equipment into this war he has no choice but to continue because he has gained so little in return. Classic sunk cost fallacy

To be clear, Putin doesn’t care about Russian casualties. I’m sure several hundred thousand family members of those killed and wounded would say otherwise.

Also, Ukrainian deep strikes at operational range and into Russia are now the most effective of the war to date. Things are not going well for Russian AD. Buk and Tors are getting massacred, and they’ve expended a huge amount of AD missiles overall.

what an interesting development

It's still a numbers game and the Russians have more. Not to mention we had only been providing the Ukes with just enough fast enough to allow them to die slower.

Spot on indeed.

Yes I read the news. That’s no surprise for me.
Ukraine has the most combat hardened army in continental Europe. that makes it perfect to a protector of Europe against Russian chauvinism. Trump has no interest in Europe. He doesn’t care of.

And why not, Ukraine can protect the Arabs, too.

Footage of strikes by Russian drones, presumably Lancet-51s, on a Ukrainian Patriot air defense system battalion near Vasylkivske in the Zaporizhia region. The drones struck an M902 launcher and an AN/MPQ-53 radar, part of the Patriot air defense system. Judging by the interface, the Lancet drones have been updated. The extent of the damage to the Patriot air defense systems is unknown; some media outlets believe they are dummy units.
